Just wondering if anyone can relate to this sad tale of giving up my natural anti-depressant because of a freak, supposed allergy. Before I go further: I have been to the doctor, and I've voiced these concerns with medical professionals. All of my tests were normal. So... I guess I just kind of became allergic to weed? About a month ago, I was hitting my dry herb vaporizer like I have every day for at least two years now, and everything went dry. Eyes, nose, mouth, throat. My throat started feeling like it was closing up. No amount of water would change this. Bottles, gallons, tanker trucks -- no dice. Swallowing water became a chore. Eating was a dream. Anxiety came in buckets because I felt like I was going to go into anaphylaxis. Strains didn't matter, they all made me feel this way. A few hours pass, and it all goes away, minus some residual feelings of swelling around my adam's apple. Oh, and my wife has always been vaping the exact same strains with me, and she has had no issues whatsoever. So I stopped for a few days, and my throat started feeling better (though I can't help but feel I did some lasting damage; my throat still sucks.) I had bloodwork, ultrasounds on my throat (the doctor thought I had a thyroid issue because that's where a lot of the swelling feeling was), endoscopy, and a barium swallow; nothing came back abnormal. That just left the weed. My doctor said that they have no real conclusive way to test for marijuana allergy, and that I should just assume I am allergic, since nothing else can be found wrong with my throat. He also said that he's never personally heard of all of this happening to someone so suddenly. This. Sucks. Bad. Mind you, this wasn't something I did solely recreationally. This was wondrous for my depression and my shitty appetite. And now it's back to the pharmaceuticals, probably. If you wouldn't mind sharing your allergy stories with me, I'd appreciate it, because I feel pretty miserable and alone, even though I know for a fact I'm not. But to so suddenly become allergic to something that I did with great joy for 10+ years... fuck.
Have u tried stuff for gerd? Closing of the throat usually is a sign of gas bubbles hitting ur throat. But I'm sure there are other reasons to have ur throat closing Sent from my SM-N960U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
I feel for ya man. My wife got CHS a couple years back. She can't smoke without violently throwing up or being sick for days. I don't know what I would do if I became allergic. Really sorry man
