Smoke Detectors

It will go off, provided there is enough smoke to make it go off.

 

It will go off if the smoke continuously goes up into it and the heat is enough, take out battery simple put back in when done

 

Why you got a smoke detector in your room? I never seen that in my life. I would turn it off before i smoke. I can only imagine how annoying it would be to have the smoke detector blowing up your ear drums while trying to enjoy your weed.

 

i dont think you need to worry about it if you keep a fan going so the smoke cant gather in one area somehow and set it off, and if you really need to know test it out when you can just blow a toke right towards it and see what happens

I think that is a pretty dumb thing of your friends to say lol "weed SMOKE doesnt set off smoke detectors'"...back to kindergarten maybe? haha

 

There are two main types of home smoke detectors, one which uses a small laser beam inside which is used to detect smoke particles in the air, so if the smoke is dense enough to interrupt the stream of light it will go off. The other kind detects excess temperature, so unless you're lighting your bowl right underneath the smoke detector and then blowing your smoke straight into it, you should be fine.

Yeah there usually needs to be a visable haze building up in the top of the room before they will go off.

Kinda depends on the alarm, as the cheap ones are probably not as sensitive... but I accidentally blew bong rips at the one in my old school apartment while standing under it and nothing happened, it can take a bit.

you gotta go hotel room status on that bitch. get a plastic bag cover the detector with it and tape it to the ceiling so it stays in place.

edit: make sure the bag has no holes in it...had to learn that the hard way..jk lol but seriously make sure it has no holes.

Why would you go through all that trouble?? Why not just turn it off?

It depends what kind it is. The one in my friends room doesn't go off for it (funny I saw this thread cuz we just realized this 15 minutes ago.) and trust me we've gotten enough smoke in there. Having 6 blunts and a bong in roto would definitely set it off but it never has

 

I would question if that thing would go off even if you house is burning down lol...sounds a little sketchy to me.

 

are you kidding me? take it off the wall, take out the batteries, and throw that bitch back in. Problem solved.
