In a thimble. You won't get any smokable bud though... The more space you can allocate the more bud you can get. At a minimum you will need about a 1x1' footprint and about 12 inches from the soil to the top of the plant (plus height for the pot itself, the light, and airspace). But the problem is that it would take an experienced grower to get a decent yield out of that kind of space, not where a newbie should be starting. So in your situation allow a minimum of 3' height (4' is better) and at least a square foot per plant. Read up on LST, it's easy and keeps a plant low.
