Hello everyone, so i have a grow box which is 45cm x 45cm x 160cm(1.5'x1.5'x5'). And i have a 400w hps light with a cooltube. The ventilation fans i have now are about 180m3/h . When the fan is blowing air on the plants, the thermometer shows about 27 Celsius but when its not it show 35!! I am thinking of changing the fan that takes air out of the box with one who is 315m3/h. Do you believe its going to be ok or i am going to have a problem? ps: the strains are going to be 2 autos so no need to worry about height. (sorry for my bad english)
Where is your intake coming from? Where is your exhaust exiting to? Where is your cool-tube coming from? Where is your cool-tube exhaust exiting to? Are they all in the same room?
Thats alot of heat for such a space, if you have an IR heat gun check the temperature right at the canopy since location of a thermometer can make it a bit inaccurate when it comes to measuring where it counts. Be sure to exhaust higher up and intake low. Sent from my GT-S7560M using Grasscity Forum mobile app
That light is just too strong for a box that size. I seriously don't think you'll be able to flower with anything other than flourescents in a box that small because of the heat. Unless you can hook up some air conditioned air to run through it, I really don't think you can exhaust enough heat out of that box to cool it down enough. Heat will kill your plants FAST and you've got to figure a way to get the temps down or you'll end up with some really sad plants. Good luck! TWW
i have easily managed a grow at the past with a 250w hps without cooltube, i speaked again today with the man at the store and i believe i can manage the heat with the big fan. i saw the fan in a friends grow box and you can even touch the cooltube without burning. i ll try it out and i ll let you know.
