Hey guys! I'm researching and planning in preparation for my first grow, and I'm looking for some advice about lighting. I will be growing for personal use, and thus decided to keep my grow small. The space I have available is 25" wide x 36" long. I plan on doing DierWolf's LST method, and depending on the amount of females, I will do 1-2 plants. Here is a picture of the rough idea I have so far. My research has told me that I should be using a blue light (preferably MH) during vegetation to promote bushiness and reduce stretching (legging?), and a red light (HPS) during flowering to promote larger buds. I have been debating purchasing a single HPS, either 250w or 400w, and just using that the whole time to keep my costs lower. My question is: do you think that's TOO much light for that small of a space? Would I be better off setting up a multi-bulb CFL system? My gut tells me go with the HPS, but I'm worried about heat in such a small space. I'll be having an exhaust fan (top near the light) and intake fan (bottom near the plants) to help with ventilation, but I have no experience to rely on. Thanks for the replies, you guys rock
