Small Bugs in my Soil

  1. What the hell are these little white bastards I seldomly see crawling through my dirt? It has to be from when I got some potting soil that was in a bag outside for a few weeks. They dont seem to be attracted to the plant, they just seem to enjoy the dirt. Hopefully they arnt raping my roots. Anyone know what this pest is called and if it is a problem or not. Thank you!

  2. are they white? i have/had them. they didnt affect my plants in any way.

  3. HIGH All, I can think of only 2 little white bastards that would be in your soil...Thrip Larvae or Springtails

  4. Thank you for your research. The answer is Spring Larvae. They feed off of mold and decaying plant matter so that is not a problem for me to worry about. I dont really see any left anymore. I normally pinch the hell out of them! This forum is a life saver!

ROFL I said a combination of the two pests. The answer is Springtails. I am just going to get rid of the soil and repot the plants, hopefully these fuckers will die.
