Hey, what's goin on.. \tI have always liked the idea of growing in a terrarium. Usualy small growing plants that are slow growing and seem to do pretty well in terrariums. It makes me think how other plants would do. most terrariums are clear and use sunlight to grow, but are inside a house. I always think about growing plants in a large scale terrarium and how I would do it. Large terrariums for a single plant would be a little hard to do and usually it wouldn't be cost efficient to start and would put me sorta at a stand still. I thought of a new way to grow in a terrarium environment. \tI have started a plant in a little glass bottle which isn't very clear , tall and skinny. Ethe terrarium is not completely enclosed because I want the plant to grow right out of it. The terrarium was made with the following: rocks, activated charcoal, screen, and a potting mix. \tAfter I grew it out of the bottle I cut off the inside leaves off, because the bottle as i said before is not very clear and the plant would be putting energy towards nothing. The plant has some damage because of the trimming method.. Anyway, I have been giving it a little about of water every now and them, just enough to keep it moist nd not kill it. My plan would be to grow to its maximum height in the bottle and pick off the suckers as it grows. After my desired but limited height I will flower it early. I also fertilize it every other day or so when it's dry. the bottle is only 5 inches tall and 1 1/2 inches wide. this is pretty much for fun. \tI typed this whole thing and now I thought that I had a question… just let me know what you think.

It's been a little while and my plant has grown. Within the time between these photos, then and now, I have built and still building a small PC grow. I have a Dell 4200 tower (small), with two Computer fans sadder'd together and powered with a AC adapter 12v DC, a 150 watt equivalent CFL soft white 2800k light. (I hope that won't be a problem, because I read that i need 2700. realized that later..) My plant that I have been growing has been under a 130watt XLED EXTREME. When it was in the bottle before, the leaves were touching the sides of the bottle at the lower part of the plant and were getting wet. i cut them off to prevent a fungus. that's why it may seem to have missing growth. it's also in training and there for I tied it in an odd way. just so the pot won't want to tip over.. I have no photos of the PC yet.
just a little update.. i have bought a power strip, three light bulb sockets, 2 packs of bulbs 1 2700 pack 100= and 1 5000 pack 100= (4 pack) from Homedepot. I put 2 5000 on the left and right and 1 2700 in the middle of the power strip. Then I put it in the box with the sadder'd fans and have started to test to see how cool it will stay over a 6 hour period. At the same time; I have put my small little planter inside with solid in it to see how long it may take the lights and the fans to dry it out. everything is pritty much set to go... all I need is this timer. like I said before the lights were installed but not well... I need to take the time and drill holes and attach something around the power strip through the top. Later I have to get all the cracks sealed. pictures soon..
Wow.. It has been a long time... since i said i would start this "box"... Finally, I have built/rebuilt this box and it's up and running... Soon!, and If I don't forget, I will have pictures. Also wish I could re tittle this thread.. or at least know how..
oh and by the way... since this last post ( 04-16-2012, 08:26 AM ) things have changed. no more small bottle grow. both were male.
