Slow grow?

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by one spot, Oct 23, 2020.

  1. Hey guys, not sure if anyone can help, but I've had my plant in for about 4-5 weeks, and in comparison to other people I know, it seems to be growing extremely slowly.
Picture below are from 4weeks ago to now.
Any advice. Im using additives in the water (bio balance, regen a root, mighty grow type things. All measured to producer specs), in canna medium. With 4 branch LEDs
Pretty basic set up in the tent, just a small fan, can't afford additional bits for the tent yet unfortunately.
Switched to the Blue LED at the start of the week as after doing some reading, other growers suggested blue led enhance vege, while red enhances flower. Could just be tripping but I feel its helped it.
    Thanks in advance. IMG_20200928_181703.jpg IMG_20201018_210024.jpg

  2. Pic in regular lighting? Looks like they need more light. Dont keep the soil too wet.

In the future when you transplant I would bury the plant up until those two little leaves. The buried trunk will sprout roots. Add a little Mykos directly to the roots when you transplant and you'll be doing better

  3. I suggest you google plant stretch ,

  4. yes, blue will encourage lateral growth, and red will encourage the stretching. It was well known when growers would skip the bluer metal halide and grow germ to harvest under the redder hps. But no matter what spectrum you are using, you should not have had that kind of stretch unless your light was underpowered or too far away. If your light is underpowered (and it may be if you are running only one spectrum) I would suggest running both spectrums full blast.

  5. How old are you? I ask because you talk like a middle schooler and certainly not like anyone offering good advice.

Beat it if this is all you’ve got to offer.

  7. You are sick and harmful. This is what you post when someone is reaching out for help. I can tell from your short and elementary post that TherunBudder loves hurting people and destroying crops.
All the reference to little dicks leads me to believe you are an expert in that arena. Get out, or come out.

  9. I was making a joke and all you donkeys taking this so seriously wtf gtfo here with that shit. Sense of humour is dead in all of you ppl

  10. Bullshit. There’s nothing even vaguely funny about your post - its pure malice. If thats your sense of humor I’d hate to see otherwise.

The bottom line is that new gardeners come here looking for help so be helpful - or not.

  11. I didn't read the comments so someone else may have already said this but there are a few things that cause this and its usually the person loving their plants to death. You cant force them to grow by over watering.
The next time you start seeds make sure you have good enough light on it and after its in the ground dont water it again. The soil or coco should be moist already before you place the seed in and thats all you do. When the plant pops up thru the ground youre still not doing anything. When it gets a little bigger you're not watering still. At around day 7-10 it should have some leaves and still dont water it but use a spray bottle and mist it lightly once or twice a day and let the roots stretch out. Watch your cotyledons. When those little roundish non serrated leaves turn yellow and start to die off then thats when you can water it with a little nutes around 300 t0 350ppm at 5.7to 6.2 pH is fine and then don't do anything to them for a few days and theyll stretch more roots and itll grow and youll be able to tell when it needs watered and once the roots are established you can start in with feeds and regular watering. Seedlings dont need much of anything and new gardeners wanna force too much water or too much light or sometimes not enough light. They need left alone to do what they do for a little bit. A plant without roots cant really do anything at all. If its 4 or 5 weeks old and i had to guess id say its a lazy plant from too much water.

  12. Appreciate the advice guys (apart from the mong with the "sense of humour" none of us have obviously).
I've switched back to CFL bulbs, the LED was a cheap buy that I thought I'd give a crack. Won't be using that again.
Reported it to try and sit in the medium a bit more, but she's still a bit tall. I'm gonna leave her in there for a bit, let her get some light, then at a later stage try getting it buried In there properly.
Thanks again for the advice, always appreciated!!

  13. IF you actually want to grow any kind of harvestable quality Cannabis - do yourself a favor and invest some money in an actual horticultural grade lighting system.

If you dont, you’re just wasting your time.

We have all the information you need to get yourself up and running right here at GrassCity - so make use of the trials and errors other gardeners have gone through before you.

I suggest hitting the Grow Journals subforums; find yourself a successful gardener that suits your conditions and copy what they are doing exactly. You can change things as you wish later.

Put some money aside and invest in a quality lighting system and it will serve you well for years.

    Good luck!

  14. PS - transplant to a deeper pot and bury your stem some.

  15. Yeah, i kkow what ya mean. Not doing it to make masses, just a bit of a personal grow/project.
Repotted it into a deeper pot, but didn't manage to get it too much deeper. Didn't want to stress it out by pulling it again so soon, and trying to get it deeper, just gonna let it get some better light for the mean time with CFLs.
    Cheers for the advice

  16. Didn't get it too much deeper unfortunately, but hoping the lights will help it for the mean time.

  17. The thing is...?

    you’re referring to CFL’s.

Point is - don’t get your hopes up. If you had to pick a 1 out of a 1-10... its a CFL.

    j

  18. Oh really? Didn't know that. Well, they obviously can't do much bloody worse than that led I had .
But that's cool man, Ive had better results from CFLs in the past, than this led. But oh well, gotta work with what I got lol.
