Slow cooking dab oil/butter

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by Coffeybean94, Apr 28, 2020.

  1. Instead of using a double boiling method has anyone ever used a slow cooking/crockpot method for making edibles with dabs?

  2. I just decarb my concentrate, mix with oil, and bake/cook. I decarb in a beaker in the oven 240F until bubbling stops, usually 30-40 minutes.

  3. I haven't tried crockpot with anything but flower.
My experience is that crockpots can destroy herb if cooked too long.

Decarb your herb, if it isn't already, then follow joker's instructions.
    I'm a bad bubble-watcher, so I just go by time, 40 min @240 F.

  5. So after decarbing you can just mix it into your hot oil and you’re good to go? I saw this on another website but wasn’t sure how accurate it was

  6. That's how I do it and it works well for me. Well, my oil isn't hot, just warm enough to melt the coconut oil.

  7. Most people add lecithin and do some infusion.
About twice as much lecithin as concentrate, then bake oil/herb/lecithin mixture 20-60 min @ 220 F.
Use 20 min if there will be significantly more heat, 60 min for slightly sleepier.

  8. How crucial would you say adding that is? Being a first timer I really don’t want to mess anything up haha I was hoping to use about an eighth for about a half cup of oil. Not sure what lecithin is haha

  9. Lecithin is an emulsifier used to make oil and water mix better.
Most people report a significant increase in effect using it.
Lecithin doesn't increase thc levels in edibles, but it can make them more effective because of better digestion.
Lecithin is widely available in health food stores and elsewhere.

  10. Decarb 240 F for 40 minutes uncovered

5 grams decarbed Kief, Hash, Concentrates, Powdered buds
    1 tablespoon Coconut oil
    1/2 teaspoon Lecithin (optional)
    Heat 220 F for 20 minutes
    Freeze (optional)
    Heat 220 F for 20 minutes (optional)
    Done

This is one of if not the top recipe for making really potent edible oil.
Coconut oil hits twice as fast as all other cooking oil and butter
Lecithin acts like a supercharger and doubles the effects from the same dose.
Makes your $$ go twice as far

[IMG] Coconut oil from the local supermarket
Lecithin can be found at heath food stores or online.

Can scale the recipe up or down as needed. This is 15 grams of Kief and 3 tablespoon of oil.
    Powdered buds = 1 drop 1 mg
    Kief or Hash = 1 drop 3mg
