Skywalker vs Cookies

Germinated both seeds December 22nd using paper towel method. Cookies (left) popped the 23rd, skywalker (right) took another day.

They were transplanted to jiffy pellets Xmas eve, placed in a humidity dome and place in the tent away from direct light.

Dec 26- Cookies surfaced and has been doing amazing, nice healthy color.

Dec 27- Skywalker had yet to surfaced. I Dig inside to find the seed went in deeper? I assist it by fixing the orientation and lightly cover it again but the shell comes off. Will this affect it?

Dec 28 - Skywalker has surfaced but had a hard time. came out a bit more through the day but the stem is still still curled? (View picture)
Cookies wants more light and the stalk is very long. Will transplant today.

  2. You'd be surprised what seedlings can survive. Having the seed shell fall off is no big deal...in fact, if it was stuck on there, it may have been the reason you had to help it up. Doesn't look like there's a whole lot of humidity in your dome. Have you given any water since the first day?

  3. Lose the dome......they're for clones, not seedlings. Get them both under light.
When do you plan on transplanting?

  5. I removed the dome and adjusted the light. Skywalker is looking better today but facing away from light? While Cookies is pretty straight.
    Will transplant later today.

  6. Skywalker appears to be doing much better today. I gave the plants water with a very dilute mix of flora micro and flora gro. probably a good 20ml per plant with a drop of each nutrient.

  9. I’m doing a deep water culture with these guys, just need a few touch ups on the system and RO water and they will be in their new home.

  10. Hi first time here. I had one seed out of 7 take off in the dome. And paper towel didn't work at all. How exactly did you do the paper towel method exactly?

  11. You damp a paper towel, pop seeds into towel, put it in a ziplock and throw it in the dark for 3 days.

  12. Ok

  13. Get a thick paper towel, not the absorbable ones but those thicker ones you get at some fast food restaurants. Soak it with your best available source of water and squeeze out the excess. We want the paper towel to be moist, not dripping wet.

Place your seeds in the middle of the paper towel, and fold paper twice. Try not to over crowd it. I wouldn’t do more than 7 per paper towel. If the paper towel is white, you should be able to see the seeds.

Then place it in a zip lock bag and store in a dark and warm place for 24-72 hours.

If your seeds are old soak in water 12-24 hours before paper towel.
If your environment is cold it could take longer
