I'm currently in the process of a stealthy grow, these pictures are approximately 9 days in to the grow. I have three Daylight bulbs, and one Warm White bulb. I'm using Alltreat organic enriched potting soil, and I plan to LST the plants in a spiral pattern then branch them off to the screen to get maximum efficiency. I have a 120 volt computer-style fan, which I will be making a carbon filter for when flower time comes round. My apologies for the shitty pictures when they're blown up, I don't know why but my camera doesn't co-operate with my computer.
Day 13, looking good. New leaf set coming out, on the bigger plants, the runt is lagging a bit. I didn't take any pictures of it because it hasn't changed since the last time I took pictures. They're growing nice and bushy, but the leaves are looking fairly slim, and as you can see its a pretty light green, making me think it's a good hybrid. Still smells like grapefruit, I'm not sure what strains are said to have that smell, but it's a really strong smell. I had some bud that the seeds came from a while ago, and the bud smelled really strong like grapefruit as well. I was skeptical when my friend said "Hey man I got some grapefruit kush", I'm still skeptical on the kush part because of how sativa the leaves look to me, (Kush strains are mainly indica right?) but when I smelled the grapefruit I had no doubt she was telling the truth, about the grapefruit part at least. It was a mad head high, trippy as hell, which again I don't think is characteristic of true Kush. (Correct me if I'm wrong, please.) Do you guys get it where people call any good weed kush around your area ? I have people claiming left and right that their stuff is "Kush", not OG Kush, not any strain name kush, they just call it kush. IMO, I don't buy it unless I know the grower, or its so good that the name doesn't matter to me its worth the extra money.
Day 15, just over 2 weeks! It's pretty exciting. If you look really closely at the 4th picture, you can see small trichomes forming at the base of the leaves.
Yeep. Day 16, and I've started pinching the tips of the leaves, I'm going to do all I can in order to get the most resin pushed out when I flower them.
Day 17, Just started LST, I'm going to strech them across the soil and then let them grow up to the screen, trying to get max efficiency.
Day 18, decided not to LST, I figure since its a scrog it'll be fine on its own. You can see the really reddish purple in the ninth picture. In person it's a lot more purple than red, but the lights seem to tinge it red to my camera. Would one say this is a purple phenotype or just stress on the plant? It's not too cold, i'm thinking about 70-76 degrees. I'm watering when it gets dry more than an inch into the soil, and its been that color since it's popped out of the soil. Normally when my seedlings have been stressed I see the purple color go away after a week or so, its getting close to three so I'm not sure what to think. Any input ? Thanks
Day 23, Had to bend the plants over a little bit in order to get them to the center of the screen. Sorry if the pictures are a bit fuzzy, it's awkward to maneuver around the screen, especially because the edges are really sharp.
Day 29, 2 days into flowering. I decided to ditch the screen, because it was just fucking with me. I don't expect to get more than 10 grams out of this anyway, and thats if I'm lucky. So the plants look pretty much the same, aside from the fact that they're putting out 10 fingered leaves now, I'll take more pictures when some nice nugs start to amalgamate.
They're Mylar space blankets, the plant on the right in the last picture has a few dead leaves on it because I screwed up when I fimmed it, aside from that its just the very bottom set of fan leaves that are yellowing, all the rest are really healthy. Just made myself up a nice carbon filter, pretty stoked for this harvest. I'm calling it Grapefruit Haze. Gonna roll me up a couple nice cigarillo style blunts with the fan leaves when I chop 'em. These pictures suck, my camera has been really tempermental with me since I dropped it a couple days ago. They're more-so pictures just to show the actual colour of the plants, the one warm-white CFL in the growbox overwhelms the cool-white bulbs, and makes the plants seem yellow. But yes, these are just some comparison pictures, I'll be using a much better camera when I take pictures of the buds.
Yeah I think I over watered them pretty bad, the soil is a little mushy. Guess I just have to wait till it dries out to tell. It might be the soil, I got an enriched soil because I was running out of time, the roots on the seedlings began to rot and I needed soil fast. If they're still a little droopy after I let the soil dry out, I'll flush it out. It's coming at one point or another anyway, so why not sooner than later ?
So, It's Day 36 and the plants are looking good They bounced back from foliar damage, and theyre smelling nice and sweet. Pictures soon.
Day 48 and here are some close up preflower pictures. I've decided to clone the shit out of these sweeties so when spring rolls around I'll have a fully stocked arsenal.
