Skunk In Basement WTF!!!

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Trippy6Mafia, Jul 26, 2019.

  1. So I have 3 plants upstairs 3 plants downstairs due to current space. I went in the basement to feed and get some clones. As I clipped the second clone I heard something. I thought it was my music playing at first. Then I saw it. Walking out of under some R-19 insulation shaking dirt of himself, a full grown 85% white skunk. Never hissed once. Being as stoned as I was I of course overreacted. Ran up told the wife. Never once has she saw a grow set up until tonight. She was more focused on how good i hide smell and sound than the physical skunk in the room. We smoked. She said just pack it up and do it tomorrow. I said schedules key babe. I fed as planned not taking my eye off of the weirdly domestic skunk trying to find his way back out. So long story short. Me, stoned, plants, skunk, confused. Hes down there and i think live trapping is out of the question. When I slowly moved towards him with a broom stick he hissed but never tried spraying. But him stressing over me putting a box over him is a different story. Help its not like i can shoot him in my basement. What about live trap and then covering with tarp. Idk stoned/adrenaline rambling thoughts appreciated.

  2. It's in the box right now still?

  3. A slip knot on the end of a broom handle, you will have a buffer between you & the critter or tie a raw steak to some rope and lure out the critter. Best of luck, love to see a picture of it:)

  4. My grow tent is built 3 ft. Off the ground. The skunk is in the corner of the unfinished basement trying to find the way he got in

  5. I will tomorrow if i can. I was listening to some chill music then out of no where in the dark

  6. I dont even know I would do, probably call Billy the exterminator maybe

  8. Right. My plants are in veg. I thought it smelled a little too skunky

  9. If you get a live trap, they love cat food. If you can corner him without getting sprayed just drop a box over him and and use another broken down box to slide underneath as a base. Might be able to get him out that way.

In my state when you trap a skunk you're suppose to kill it, but a lot of trappers just rerelease out in the country side instead. Good luck!

    Mothballs are a great deterrent.
