skunk 11 growing indoor after 2 months

  1. Hi guys!!
Im new here..i hope u will be able to help cause i really need some suggestion right now!!:)

Im growing 4 plants of skunk 11 indoor with 5 fluorescent lamps of 25 watt (i know it is not much).
Now im at the 2nd months but they dont look ready at all...the flowers at the bottom have most of the "hair" red, but as u can see from the pics the flowers at the top have all the "hair" white.
what can it be?any suggestion? how long do u think i should wait without waisting everything?
i read that maybe the reason of these could have been that the lamps where to close to the flowers at the top so i moved them farer(did i do right?)..(usually the flowers at the top should be the one which turn ready first, am i wrong?)
Or could have been that i have given them to much fertilsed?
should i start to be worried?
    i know many questions..

but thanks to everybody for ur kind answers:))))

  3. When you say flourescents, you do mean compact flourescents right? CFL's? If so you should be okay on the light, you wont get much off the plant just because the light penetration simply isnt there like an hps/mh. Keep your CFL's as close as possible without burning the plant(3-6"). The reason your lower branches probably arent filling out as much and hairs turning red is because they arent getting the light that the tops are getting(lumens). If you have some extra cfls place some around the lower branches to give them light and see how they react. Plant looks great! Good luck!

  4. Nah, I dont agree, most varietys of cannabis if the hairs are red there more mature and probly potent. If there white there immature compaired to the red hairs. Is there anyway the bottom sides of your plant are getting more light?:smoking:

  5. i meant compact fluorescent..
well the top of the plants is getting obviosely more light. The lower one are getting much much less light.
is it possible maybe that i put the lights too close..the were like 3cm far away..

is it possible anyway to cut the flowers that are mature and leave the ones with all white hair to mature?will it harm the plants?

    thaaanks for the reply!!:)))))))))))

Wrong. Hairs that begin turning colors means they are beginning to decay and reach their max potency. First of all you should use a 30-60x microscope so you can really tell when your buds are ready. Your bottom buds are beginning to turn red faster because they are not reaching near they amount of light, Which is why they are extremely small as well. I am doing a CFL grow as well and when my top buds were great and my lower ones werent(all my lights were on the top), i placed lights at the bottom branches, my buds begin to almost come back to life and grow fatter, as well as more WHITE hairs. They are now twice the size(popcorn buds) they were before i moved my lights. Go with your instict, good luck

  7. so maybe i need to cut the lower buds and dry them....
    what would u do?

  8. He doesnt know. Guy thinks the red hair means there decaying. lol:smoking:

  9. Thats strange for sure! I think they look pretty good for minimal light. I have never grown any Skunk strains but I thought they didnt produce alot of red hairs.

  11. romalian i am afraid they are right...

  12. Simple, you need more light. 125 W is not near enough to grow out 4 plants. The lower flowers are maturing, however with the lack of light they are under developed. I would not cut nothing off and try to add some more light and give them another 2-3 weeks. If you doubled the light you have now, along with positioning the lights to cover more area on the plants, you will see much better result over the next 2 weeks or so. Are you using the right spectrum for flowering? This could be another issue which is causing under development. Red spectrum is better for flowering.

You will see more development over the next few weeks with what you have, however you are giving up yield. More lights, 2-4 more weeks, and you will see a major improvement and a much better yield.

  13. No need to call me a fucking idiot. It just seemed backwords to me. Wow so MAYBE I was wrong. I will take advice from others when they have a masters in botany.:smoking:

  14. well thanks everyone for all replyes!!

  15. I'm honestly amazed at what you've gotten so far with just 125 watts over 4 plants. You have two options really, the choice is yours.1)Add a few more lights for the last few weeks, halfway up the plants to the side, maybe 4,one on each side and hope they grow and the decaying buds aren't worthless,or 2)trim some of the lower branches so the plant can focus its energy on top growth.I've seen plants (although outdoors and much larger)that looked like two completely different plants from the top half to the bottom.Or maybe a 3rd of the plant was red or purple haired but not the rest.I can't tell by your pics if the buds are decaying or if thy're just healthy red hairs, but if it's on all your plants I'm 99% sure it's decaying buds.In that case I'd go with option 2.

  16. and no it won't harm them, only refocus its energy.Don't go crazy though, she needs those fan leaves in the last few weeks.

  17. ill go for the first option!!
    thaaaaanksss!!:)

  18. First the bad news. Due to the lack of enough light you will not see big buds.
Now the good news. Judging from the photos the buds you do get should be very good.
