There's nothing like the rush of flying down a hill staring death in the face. Being real with you, even though this is an old post (just logging in again now), a helmet and slide gloves are not a bad idea if you are going to be taking hills seriously. I've crashed at ~55mph and walked away. I used to skate a famously secret hill in PDX that regularly bodies unprepared skaters. No joke--I've been there.
