Singing

  1. Hai guys,

Recently I've been trying to flex my other (natural) instrument and get some singing to accompany my playing. First thing I found is that it takes a lot of adjustment to sing and play at the same time!

Was kinda wondering, does anyone have any tips for working my voice? I know that practise makes perfect, but theres got to be more to it than that? I don't have a bad voice (as far as I can tell), but my confidence sucks, especially singing by myself (opposed to singing with another person or along to music)

  2. ur gunna laugh but just start singing along to Coheed and Cambria songs...my voice has gotten a lot better from it haha no joke...i don't sing when i play either just in general..like when i sing in the shower and stuff i've noticed a big difference in my range...i've been wanting to start singing and playing too but it's a lot harder then it looks...i always wanna start singing the rythym or groove that i'm playing

also (for bass) practice Pea by RCHP (Flea)

  3. Yah, singing and playing is tough! I can only do it with really simple chord progressions. The two songs I'm working on at the moment are Prophet by Slightly Stoopid (I prefer their version to Sublime's), and Acoustic Medley by Bob Marley (it goes Guava Jelly, This Train, Corner Stone, Comma Comma, Dew Drops, Stir It Up, I'm Hurting Inside)
