Singing and Smoking

  1. Does smoking bud have any effect on your singing voice?

I've been singing for about a year, nothing major no lessons or anything, just jamming guitar and singing shit. And I assume that smoking can't be good for the singing voice; hot smoke down your throat will irritate it. I'm just wondering if any other stoners out there sing, and whether you find smoking affects your voice in any way. Usually after a blaze I notice I can't hit the high notes, but I can hit the lower notes more easily. It's like that with drinking, too. A bit of honey down your throat eases it up a bit, works wonders, but still. I really want to improve my singing and want to hear your opinions on whether smoking has a significant impact on that.

    What do ya think?

  2. buuump.

  3. Theres tar from any smoke you inhale into your lungs, but smoking weed in my opinion is wayyyy less dangerous for your singing voice then smoking cigarettes.

Let me ask you something, have you ever heard a weed smoker have a horrible "smokers cough"? or one of those raspy smoking voices? I haven't

I sing myself, and I smoke. Never have noticed a difference, even though there probably is a very minute difference

  4. i would think so defiantly not as bad as cigs though. Just learn how to shred on guitar and your singing wont matter...or rap :(
