I learned my first riff back in february when i was in treatment and have been teaching myself to play since. i play every day for hours but i never seem to get anywhere, i look up tableture to play but i can still only play simple songs like the intro to tenacious d's wonderboy and come as you are. recently i've been trying to sing and play at the same time, so far i've only tried something in the way cause it's pretty simple (just 2 chords) and i can do it decently but i need tips on playing and singing while playing, how do you guys do it?
The best thing I could suggest is to find some simple drum tracks to play along with so you can practice you timing and coordination.....or even a metronome if you have nothing else. Finding a buddy to play with who is better is always a good idea too. You tube has plenty of drum tracks to play along with too. It will come to you... don't worry!
