Simple timer question

    With the 24 hour timers and when people say 24on 24 off, is a straight 24 on or juts one hour on/off for 24 hours?

    There is no such thing as 24/ on and 24/off.24 means its on 24/7.If some one says 16/8 thats means 16 hours of light and 8 hours of dark :smoke:

    you mean 16 on 8 off:eek:

    24/hr light, 20/4 light and 18/6 are the 3 most commonly used.

    I'm just confused because almost everyt timer I see is 15 mintue intervals, so is that what you are supposed to do, or the 18/6, 20/4 or what?

    If you're going to be using 24/0 then you don't need a timer at all. If you're using 18/6, set your timer to go on at say 12pm, and off at 6am. That'll give it 18 hours of light, and 6 hours of dark.
