Well i broke my ankle and foot two months ago but i've been wantin to start a grow, also going to be growing through out winter so i'll probably post about the other strains when the time comes. Right now i got a relatively small tent about 2.5ft wide x1.5ft deep x 3ft tall. I have an auto called speed from sweet seeds germed in soil for the past five days now. She's currently in the tent with lights off. Lights are just CFLs for Veg, plenty of em. Lookin to pickup a small HPS this week for flower. This girl once sprouted will veg for two weeks or so then start flowering. Gonna keep her on 20/4 light sched. throughout. Thinking about germing an original skunk #1 from the seedsman around week 5-6 so she'll be ready to go in. This speed auto is super fast only taking roughly 7 weeks from start to finish so its just an experiment for me. I have quite a few other seeds to grow and all will be grown one at a time in the tent and cycled for a continous ganja garden!! Thanks Pearl, Im growing in FF Ocean Forest but cut with extra peat moss and a sprinkle of wormcastings. Im gonna be feeding with canna's organic products (BioFlores & BioBoost) just in flower. Thus the extra "light" soil mix, i've heard mixed things on the FFOF, what do you think?
I use it, but I cut big time! I've read lots of posts about people who had problems with it being too hot, especially during the seedling stage, but I haven't had an issue. I don't use much at all for my seedlings, it's not until the veg and flower stages that I add more to the mix. But if I could get promix, or sunshine mix around here I'd be getting that. Can't find those anywhere. Sometimes you gotta do with whatcha got. That's what my grandma always used to say.
Yea can't find promix or sunshine around here either. Its just easy to get the ocean forest and peat moss. Had that kickin around, but yea i definately wanted it to be lighter on the seedling but rich enough for a months grow ya know. This auto really interested me, when i saw the claim of 7 weeks from start to finish, i had to see for myself the actual quality and quantity i can get off it. Im a little skeptical so we'll see. Auto's are new to me and im not an expert grower either but i have a "green thumb" lol
my soil used to be fox farms, 5 years ago, but since I recycle I wonder if I can still call it Fox Farms stuff? NeWay, thats what I use - the old recycled dirt, roots, stalks, stems and all.
yea thats what i do grandpa! Shit i think its good to use a medium that still has its aerating and water retaining power but no nutes, leaving a blank canvas for you to play with your own nutes. I am new to organics to so over the next few strains i'll really start dialing in a mix that im comfortable with. Since i won't be working for another 6-7 months i'll have plenty of time to learn from my grows. I've done plenty of research on growing but its time to show people i can grow my own quality medicine. Sorry i haven't posted pics you'd be lazy too if you were in my position lol. Lookin forward to smokin less and focusing on this grow a lil more, im due for a lil smoke break, i've been dabbin like crazy this week. If anyone has any info or opinions on this strain feel free to comment. OR any info/tips on autoflowering strains also gratefully welcome. And i again i'll post pics when i can peel myself off the couch haha
Alright lets see if i can do this. Whoop there it is! So first of these are my flowerin nutes, 2nd is my little girl wakin up an streeeetttchiiin! 3rd and last are the cab. Dimensions are probably 2.5ft wide by 3ft tall by 2ft deep. Extremely getto rigged but im limited right now. The third pic shows how i rigged these lights with extra holes to move em around if need be, also i can raise the whole light platform another 10-12 in. if i have to. But not worried with this auto. She did stretch though, she's been popped for two days now so i brought her up closer to the lights, those are two 15W daylights and a 26W 6500k cfl. And yes i have more but not anything bigger than 15W daylight :/ but should suffice for this grow. Temps flux quite a bit so im leaving the fan on in there and its runnin from 75-81 degrees 50-70 percent humidity. I had it warmer the first day kept it warm had a getto humidity dome. Now i want to get a little 150W HPS. We'll see if i can get down to the LGS. The guy that owns the store is the only Canna dealer in the area, i know for a fact he's a great farmer, god i wish i could see his trees. lol He'll be laughin when he sees me crutch in there!
Hey man, we all have lived in the ghetto at one point in time. Nothing to be ashamed of, you do want ya gotta to. When you go shopping for a ballast think about getting on that can ouput more than 150. I think they have 150/250 ones. Watts are like RAM, you never can have too much. Also a separate ballast lasts a lot longer than the ones where the ballast and hood are in one unit. Them suckers get real hot.
Whats a good cheap reliable ballast and bulb? I mean i got money but im not trying to spend bookoo loot
Craigslist If you want to go new then PriceBurst - Tell online sellers the price YOU want to pay! , which is way kewl. You enter the price you are willing to pay for the item shipped right to your door. I've scored some killer deals thru this site. I have a galaxy digital 250w which has been rock solid for a bit more than 5 years now. Also, have a NexGen 400/600 that is a few years old and works no problem. Use sunPulse lamps but there are others which are not as expensive and do the same thing. Temperature control is the big thing when you move away from cfl's and stuff. I prefer a gigantic reflector with 6" flanges and tempered glass. My 250 used to look pretty silly in the big reflector but no one said anything about the buddage

Now when i build a bigger cab Im gonna buy a pc fan and make a little diy carbon filter just to exhaust heat...Should i just get another to suck air in over winter or the cool air and the fan i got now will suffice? Im really now gettin to crazy with this grow but the following will be better im sure!
So took a trip to the LGS and im gettin a 150 sun system yeayea i kno its hot but i'll getto rig the fans so it keeps it cool.
So 7 days shes been above ground. Consistent 80-81 F temp 50-60 RH except in the morning she's a little dry on top, still warm moist soil. 3 15W daylight bulbs to 1 26W soft white. 3 in away. On 20/4 We got a thunderstorm tonight hopefully we don't lose power. I'll post pics tomorrow
Yea i barely water gonna let it dry out tomorrow. Monday im gonna water with an 1/8th dose of rhizotonic, get the root growth going good. Stuff works amazing.
Day 10 (Above Ground): Fed once on day 8 with worm poo water and yesterday with a 1/4 dose of rhizotonic. Temps at 77-79 right now w/ fan on. This morning i shut the fan off to bump the cabin temp up to 82F then switched it back on. So this Sweet seeds {Speed+} autoflower is a cross between critical mass auto and devil #2. Its a 7 weeker it says, hmmm we'll see bout that.. Day ten right now with second set of serrated leaves growin, those popped out two days ago. So we'll see where this next week gets me. Thinking of LST'ing once i hit 4-5 nodes. What do you guys think on a hybrid auto? Second pic is from banks site. Looks yummy!?!
