Silicone Containers Old?

  1. Hey everyone, so peep this. I have 3 silicone jar containers for concentrates. I haven't dabbed in over a year and a half. Not cause I don't like dabs or anything, just it's been hard to find any in my area for a long time now and it's way too expensive when you do. Or.. it's backyard shite! Anyways, all 3 of my containers last time I had used them, I cleaned them all out good nothing was left behind in them. They've been sitting in my smoking cabinet/ shelf this whole time.

Well I recently decided to pull them out and start using them to hold dry herbs in for the time being and get some use out of them. So odd thing is, they're all like tacky and sticky! As if they've had some oil in them and it has been sweating out. The outside of them are sticky as well as the insides. I washed them all out of course after that and let them dry. They felt fine at first clean and normal. Then a couple days later when picking them up to take out, they're back to feeling all sticky again!

Did my containers go bad or something? I've cleaned them out over and over with dish washing soap and even some iso. They stay and feel clean for a day or so then back to that sweaty sticky feeling. It sucks cause I'd like to carry them with me, but they get covered in lint and dust and anything else they're exposed to. It literally feels like oil has sweated out of it and sticky. You can smell oil on your hands too after handling them. So I'm just wondering if they went bad all that time sitting and somehow had a reaction?

I bought them at local headshops in my area so maybe just a cheap silicone they were made with? I don't know anyone else experience this with older silicone jars ya'll have?

  2. Most are the cheapo imports, but there are good food grade around (pricey though)..the Cheapos are so cheap..why take a chance and just buy some new ones..I think I saw like 25pcs for under $1 each on fleabay.

I trust NOTHING from China (knowingly) that I eat, drink or smoke from.
