Is there a good way of getting side shoots eary(first set of leaves)? I am trying to grow in a pc case and I need extra shoots early. If I lst it and put a light close as I can, will it sprout? I was wondering if there was a special way of doing it. I also plan on topping it to, I would like atleast four colas, counting the two from topping. Thanks in advanced for a response, I couldn't find what I needed when I searched.
LBH has a great tutorial on a nice LST design for maximum output... http://forum.grasscity.com/advanced...-way-lst-tutorial-w-topping-sub-tutorial.html There is no "special way," other than the method that works best for you/your greenhouse. When you LST, you are basically just giving more light to the lower parts of the stem where the side-shoots (node-growth) come out, giving them a chance to grow straight up to the light just like the main cola. However the node growth won't come in until the plant gets older and has matured a bit (2-3 weeks maybe), but with LST that growth will grow very fast as it gets more light than it would otherwise. It's best to wait a week or two to start some LST/topping anyway, til the plant can really support itself. When you LST, you will be creating more "tops" from the undergrowth that becomes exposed. You could end up with more than four "colas" just with LST alone and no topping. Good luck!
