I have a couple Cree CXB3590 COBs. .. I was thinking of putting them right at canopy level ..See how the bushy undergrowth I couldn’t quite get back to on the back right plant in the 4x4 (even opening the other side of the tent, didn’t offer much more room to prune. And I think with some adequate side lighting on that side, though I can make up for some of the lower under canopy branches that I never cut away. .. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
been there done that...waste of time and energy IMHO. LED light does not penetrate much into the canopy so there will not be a very big change in yield.
I agree with storz . So you put light on the side only goes 8 inches deep into the plants. You can put more on the top ? That will be the best . In a bigger area you could spread open the plants more wider to get lighting deeper . Keep doing what your doing Edited im not saying . Put more lighting on the top and cranking up the par so high it will be over kill and damage the plants . Just more light spread is the goal all you can do.
the other reason i stopped using nets. dont get me wrong scrogs work well but screw you out of being able to manage your crop most long term scrog growers have gone through trial and error i think your plants will be fine without the extra light i use my larf to make oil for brownies
im a fan of side lighting myself. been using them for years. seem to work good for me as far as denser buds.
You can always defoliate on Day 21 and rip all the big fan leaves to open up light penetration to the lower part of the canopy.
Definitely defoliating a little bit each day. — how many watts are you running total? I have 640 in a 4 x 4. Total draw. I have another 100 W Cree. COb unit to add Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I do three defoliation cycles throughout my harvest. Depends what stage my plants are at but I max out at 1000w in a facility grow.
I have seen on here before someone doing swazzing. it is removing all fan leaves the day you flip and then do it again after 2 weeks. It’s kinda horrifying when you see the plant with all the leaves removed, ive tried it and it worked really good for me. the plants recover well and fill out . generally I also do alot of defoliation as well.
Theres typically 3 defoliating phases in the flowering cycle. It will help promote more yield and better growth for the bud sites. If your plant is already healthy, the defoliation cycle will not stress the plant out (only if the plant is weak).
This was over a week ago. This was yesterday. I turned my LEDs up to 75% (now at 100% instead of adding side lighting, I do have 640w above those suckers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I did, a lot of them... hold on let me find you links, they were under the name "FL430". I took a brake from here and had my account deleted. BUT there are still in the archives and searchable
I asked for it to be, had to move on for some time... to get healthy again... Here is one FL430’s one escape to life.... The Garden
Here's another FCE4800 - The Prodigal Son Returns. Thanks and ya I am I think... just looking for work and getting into a better living situation
