sick young plant.

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by wasert, Sep 2, 2006.

  1. Hi

I just started growing my first plant. The plant is aprox. 3 weeks old. I noticed some strange brown marks on the edge of a leaf a week ago, maybe a little more. Anyway, the brown marks are now bigger and covering not only the border, but most of the leaf.

I read that brown marks are caused by an excess of nutrients or excesive watering. I didn't use any chemicals and I am growing the plant using daylight, no lamps of any kind.
I did water my plant daily, until today. Maybe that's the problem.

Any help would be really appreciated.

    Thanks

  2. what kind of soil are you using?
could it be miracle Grow by chance?
the slow release fertilizers are too much for young plants.
miracle grow will kill your little ones slowly.

  3. I believe thats a type of mold. Does It kinda looks like something has been spiraling on the leaf? Ive had the samething before. Just cut the area off and it should be ok, in a week or so new growth will more than make up for that.
