Hello, This is my first grow with BioBizz All-mix supstrate. I't supposed to have nutrients for the first 3-4 weeks. I'm growing under 600 W HPS, having day temp at 26°C, night at 20°C. Humidity is from 45 - 70% depeds if I watered or not. The problem started at second week from germ. The leaves started to yellow between the veins and on leaf edges. It spread from the bottom of the plant upwards. Now they are are all like that. Finally the leaves started to curle. What's wrong and what can I do?
They may just need nutrition. As a first step I would start adding whatever veg nutrients you're planning on using at half strength for the next week or so; this will tell you if they are starving without hurting them. IMO that's all it probably is, although the manufacturer says that the mix contains compost and worm castings, which *should* be sufficient at this age... Either way, half strength nutrients won't hurt and will probably only help. Another culprit *could* be overwatering if your medium isn't draining quickly, or if the plants are just small enough that they aren't using the water you give them up quickly enough. Other potential maybes might be - Cool temperatures - Low Relative Humidity - Poor water quality, or extremely high or low pH right out of the tap. Normally this shouldn't matter an awful lot in a compost based soil (at least to a certain extent), but I suspect that the Mfr doesn't add an awful lot to the mix. J
"it has enough power to sustain lush plant growth for a couple of weeks" that's what the manufacturer says anyway. which is kind of ironic if you consider the beginning of the sentence : "It has been designed to emulate rich outdoor soil" anyway Jerry nailed it, give it some nutrients. you can also top dress it with some quality compost if you can get your hands on some.
