sick plant?

  1. Just went out to check my plant after 4 straight days of rain and this is what I saw at the end of one of the branches. Is this mold?

  2. It doesn't smell moldy at all and this is my first grow

  3. I also have a problem with leaves and parts of flowers turning purple. Was told this was caused by a ph deficiency. Is this true and is it possible to fix it before harvest?

  4. thats botrytis (bud rot). cut off any parts that look like this and discard them, making sure not to contaminate the rest of the plants. I would also harvest everything else before it rots.
purpleing is normal outdoors and is caused by low temperatures, not related to pH. nothing to fix there.

The rest of the flowers look like this with some of the pistils still showing. Is this too early to harvest? I might just go ahead and still harvest because we are supposed to get a frost in 3 days so idk if they would make it through the frost or not. I found 2 buds like that 1 random and 1 near the top so idk what to do now. This is so disappointing

doesnt look sick to me. Im not sure about frost, I believe it can easily kill cannabis... other than that, she doesnt seem ready to harvest yet, but Id either harvest before the first frost or if possible at least cover her with a plastic bag or something like that, should work to keep her a few degrees above freezing over night.
edit: oh I thought this was a new thread... xD
yeah, with the bud rot and the frost ahead Id definitely harvest now!

  7. I was just reluctant to harvest because I was told I still had another 4-6 week's to harvest time and the buds aren't even that big right now. I'd rather have some bud than no bud though.

  8. if it wasnt rotting and there wasnt going to be any frost Id let her grow another two or three weeks, pretty sure that 4-6 is much longer than she would need. but the bud rot will spread like crazy if you dont harvest and the frost could kill her over night, then you would have even more problems with mold while drying, because you would be drying a completely dead plant thats still soaking wet.

  9. I chopped off the 2 sections that had the rot. I have big black trash bags that I could cover em with and tie em off at the bottom or something. I'm more worried about the rot. Would the organic fungicide/insecticide I bought help keep it from spreading? And did I shock the plant real bad by cutting a branch and bud off ?

  10. dont spray your plant with anything (this late) in flower! just harvest it...

  11. I'll harvest the bigger one that had the rot and try to keep the smaller one growing. What would the outcome be if I harvested the top of the plant and that's it?

  12. you can harvest parts of plants and keep the rest growing, that alone wouldnt be a problem.

  13. Alright now does the rot spread too much to just cut the bud off and continue? I think that's what I may do is harvest the buds that were surrounding the one at the top that had the rot. This would basically take off all the top section almost completely. Seem wise? This would also allow me to cover more of the plant with the trash bag for the frost.

  14. no, does not seem wise. Im fairly certain that the bud rot will grow faster than the buds, thus you should harvest now, unless you wish to harvest less.

  15. But if I eliminate all the parts with the rot and the surrounding buds you said the rest of the plant could keep growing.

  16. no, not under those conditions. its too cold and too wet and cutting off the visibly moldy parts does not eliminate the mold.
