Sick plant? Wrongly shipped seeds?

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by toolzor, Oct 8, 2018.

  1. So pictured are two Northern Lights Autoflower plants.
10-7 (3) shows both of them, the plant that I'm looking for opinions on is the one farthest away, or on the left side.
10-7 (1) is my healthy NL Auto
10-7 (4) is the plant in question.

Both plants were put in the ground on the same date, both are in the same size pots, have been exposed to the same atmospheric conditions, topping, LST, and have been fed the same nutes since day one.

Early on in this plant's life, things looked weird, it had weird light yellow discoloration patterns on the leaves which cleared up at about one month old.

Fast forward to today, it has some weird yellow upper growth, it's growing tall like a Sativa rather than an Indica.

Someone early on had told me they had a plant that grew like this, and it didn't yield anything respectable given it's size and advised that I should just trash it, well I had the room to just let it grow so I wasn't concerned with destroying it, but now I'm more concerned with the fact that I'm wasting nutrients on it as well. It has obviously been shooting pistils but the buds have yet to really gain any density at all.

Basically I'm looking for opinions here, based on what I have said, do you think this is a sick plant? Do you think that maybe I was shipped a different strain in the mix of NL seeds? Should I just let it grow? Should I chop it down?

  2. I wouldn't junk that. If she is getting too tall, then supercrop the tops. I'd try a couple crowns first to see how she reacts. This should inadvertently cause an increase in trichome production as well.

  4. Nah, I kept them nice and short this run, I've got plenty of headroom it's the floor space that it takes up that I'd like to get back if this thing is indeed sick.
