Sick plant diagnosis I think it’s calcium

  1. Sick plant diagnosis I think it’s calcium

hey guys I’m kind of at a loss here about a week ago I started seeing tons of brown specks around the plant. I immediately assumed it was calcium but I just would like a second opinion.

    The background:
    -Outdoor grow
-I was worried about nutrient lockout so I flushed soil
    -PH 6
-using foxfarm trio like I’ve always used
-looks to me like a calcium deficiency the problem is it’s definitely older/more central/lower growth which feels more like a mobile deficiency. The top growth is the best looking. Overall the plant is growing excellent, but the spots seem to be getting worse and worse. After the flush I just started foliar feeding with calcium chloride.

the fact that it looks like calcium but isn’t presenting holistically as an immobile deficiency is kinda odd to me. Any help is appreciated.

Nitrogen deficiency mixed with a small thirp infestation. Also looks like plant got wet during daylight hours

Also isn't calcium chloride salt based why are you using that... it's not baking soda correct? Ive never heard of anyone using also I read mixing calcium chloride in water produces heat may not even of had to spray plant during day light hours for it to burn.

6ph too low for soil, never flush. Just give plain water. Preferably ro, distilled, or rain. Those have low to 0ppm

  3. I Appreciate the input. I have never seen a Thrip infestation present with dark brown/copper specs. Usually more streaked and loss of chlorophyll prior to being necrotic. While I wouldn’t rule out some degree of nitrogen deficiency (because I have stopped boosting with the grow big due to moving into flower) it all does not present like any N def I’ve seen in the past I generally see yellow leaves followed by necrosis after it gets bad enough. The one pic of the yellow leaf I posted is very late stage I should be clear that the majority of the problem I’m having is healthy green plant with brown spots scattered all over that progress worse and worse. That seemed like tell tell calcium to me which is why I treated with cacl. All it is is a “bloom rot” calcium given via foliar feeding.
I never spray it during the day. Lastly I’ve grown for years at ph from anywhere from 5.5 on the extreme low end to 7 without any issue I’m very pleased with the outcome from a ph of 6-6.5 although different strains can be pickier than others I’ve never worried about lockout anywhere from 5.5-7. Thanks again for the input!

  4. Those white dots look like thirp damage.

Could be calcium tho since calcium is about non existant at 6ph.

If this helps its calcium deficiency

Just added a tablespoon of oyster shell at that time. It's a two gallon pot so I gave a half dose.

Maybe 10-14 days later, just showing deficiency didn't spread or get worse after application

Looks like (K) potassium deficiency considering the location on lower oldest leaves.

Since you are outside any number of insects find Cannabis a tasty treat.
    My 35 cents on it.
Tossing ideas out and seeing what sticks to the wall is always fun.

  7. Well I will continue to foliar feed the calcium until I figure it out and treat with diatomaceous earth just in case this is an insect problem. Thanks everyone!

  8. Well I just gave it a heavy feeding so we will see where the next couple days take us!
