Sick Plant - Burnt Leaves *Pics* Please help if available

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by rumz, Nov 1, 2006.

  1. Hey... I'm new to this and I thought I had things going right but apparently I was wrong! I read through the forums... tried many posted solutions and no luck I'm still having the ends of my leaves turning a brown/burnt color. This one is in its 3rd week of flowering cycle. Can anyone tell me whats up? Any help is greatly appreciated!

    pic1 - leaf edge burn
pic2 - begin of new leaf edge burn
    pic3 - leaf burn
    pic4 - overall view

Disregard the lighting on the overview pic (pic4) for it may seem the lighting is too close to the plant but its actually just a bad pic from my retarded camera... I'm pretty sure my lighting is not too close to my leaves. Oh... and I know I need mylar on those dull walls :(

  2. We need as much information as you can give us.

    What type of soil?
    Have you checked the PH?
    What type of nutes?

Looks pretty healthy other than what appears to be nute burn, but we would need more information.

    Good luck.

  3. Hey anony. My plant has started to go like in the second picture there. I still havent gave it any fertilizer or anything and its been healthy up until the past few days. I looks healthy its just right at the tip of a couple of leaves are the way they are in that pic. And a couple of the little points on the way up the leaf are also that way. I figured it cant be nute burn as they have been in the same soil as I kept posting about. Could it be from the light? I think I took the advice of getting the light as close as possible a bit far as the leaves im talking about were near enough wrapped round the bulb, so that the bulb could be much nearer the growing leaves... if this makes sense, im a bit stoned. And now that I think of it the lowest leaves have a SLIGHT colour like that at the tip of the leaves. Anyway i know this isnt my thread but maybe answers to this could help that guy too.

By the way PH when I last checked which was around 3 days ago or so was roughly 6.0
The lighting is still 60Watt fluro.
The soil is Westland Multi Purpose
The plant is 30 days old

Today also I fertilized it with Miracle Grow All Purpose 15-30-15, says mix 1.25ml (or whatever its measured in) with 1 litre of water, so I mixed the 1.25 with 2 litres so I can build up to mixing it with a litre.

  4. It is grown in a hydroponic system with no soil. The PH level reads out to 6.2 and the type of nutrients I am using are:

    BC Boost
    BC Bloom
    Awesome Blossoms
    Thrive Alive B1 Red

    Anyone have any ideas?

  5. PH 6.2 eh? You're just a little high (i don't mean stoned)

The below pic has been posted so many times, Get the PH to between 5.5 - 6.1 also add a lsmall pinch of epsom salts to the nutrient solution.

  6. what would the epsom salts do?bring up the acidity a bit?

  7. use PH up or down to balance your water, epsom salts are nutrients
