Siberian Tiger vs. Polar Bear

  1. Being big is pretty much everything in this scenario. When you're talking about apex predators, you're not going to find one that "works out" more than another because all large carnivores have to be in peak physical condition just to catch enough food to survive.

Polar bears can swim across 200 miles of open water, and they can kill prey with a single swipe of the paw. They drag seals out of the water with one arm and then kill them by biting their head and crushing their skull. They can even scale vertical cliffs. And on occasion, they kill adult walruses, which can weigh 2 tons and have skin and blubber up to 10 inches thick.

The tiger's speed is mostly useless because if it gets within paw-swiping distance of the bear, it's dead.

  2. wrong again grizzly/kodiak are the largest by a long shot like i said before 2500 lbs is the largest yet so just imagine a small truck coming for ya. Also no fucking tiger runs 60 mph that's fucking ridiculous.

  3. According to wikipedia
    Kodiak:

    Polar:

  4. the tiger would win, everyone knows that jungle cats are better at fighting than dogs

  5. polar bear, easily

  6. tigers are made to fight 3x the animal their size..do you think their stupid? thier not going to get in reaching distance with the bear...they wait till the bear gets angry enough and make a mistake and take advantage o the Oppertunity. thats how they take down their pray....their patient creatures.

walruses aint shit compared to a rhino or a elephant...no bear can take down those animals. their too slow.

tigers have plenty of power to kill that bear.

  7. Subbed for discussion. Never knew polar bears could grow that big, holy shit.

  8. this depends entirely on terrain.

if its in Siberia, the tiger will win hands down, but if its in the Canadian arctic that tiger would be dead before it found a bear.

the polar bears can swim in the frigid waters of the arctic circle, where the cat would likely freeze.

but if its on a plain or tundra im sure the tiger would be fast enough to fuck up the bear... but on the other hand bears are known to be extremely stealthy, especially when youre the same color as the ground and sky around you.

i dont think we coudl say what would win unless we pinned them against each other and actually witnessed a fight.

anybody got money for an arena, a polar bear, and a siberian tiger?

  9. Polar bears have been know to wait at a single breathing hole for hours until a seal arrives.

*Note. Possibly misinterpreted the post a smidge.*

  10. polar bear,, it could just be like f you tiger im jumping into some frigid ass water. tigers going naaaaah

  11. yes, but i dont think the tiger is just gunna sit there....they like to "egg"their pray on so they do make a mistake...its part o their hunting skills...

and they both actually live in relatively climates.....the polar does live in a much colder climate tho.

toe 2 toe, polar has the power...but its not going to be that easy to just swipe the cat with his paw when he moves much faster than him.

  12. YouTube

Substitute a 2,000 pound bull walrus for a tiger, end result is still tiger drowning in it's own blood.

  13. are you comparing a walrus to a tiger? no thanks ill skip the video lol.

  14. I've seen a polar bear bite clean through a frozen-solid fish that was twice the thickness of my arm.

    I don't have small arms.

  15. Polar bear. It's got capability to stand on 2 feet and emass the tiger. Plus polar bears are fucking beasts. Tiger isn't big enough although its still a monster

  16. Cheetah =/= tiger

  17. Polar Bears and Siberian tigers live in RELATIVELY similar climates. The polar bear lives in the arctic circle with lots of snow all year round and is below 50 degrees Fahrenheit while the Siberian tiger lives in the Russian far east where it is very cold as well with lots of snow and a temperature of around 49 degrees Fahrenheit and it can and does get lower. They both are used to trudging through heavy snow and tough weather. Now time to examine the polar bear and the sib. tiger. The polar bear is 770–1500 lbs and the average Siberian tiger is 389-660 (though can get to 700 lbs) . The polar bear is more than twice the tigers size. Yes the tiger is faster and more agile but think about it.This is a fair fight so the tiger can't use ambush. The polar bear couldn't catch the tiger because its too agile so it'd have to wait for the tiger to attack. The two animals are facing directly at each other if the tiger attacked head on it would fall right into the polar bears huge paws and get its spine smashed. The tigers only attack method then is to maneuver around the polar bear and jump on its back where it can't reach over and grab it and kill the polar bear with a bite to the spinal column. but how can it sneak around the polar bear if they are staring right at each other? Even if it did get close enough to pounce on the bear the massive animal could easily turn around and turn the tables on the feline. Do you see? The bear is just o big and strong for the tiger to take down, now if it were an ambush the tiger might have more of a chance of killing the bear.
