Yea i was thinking about this today too. The best assumption i could come up with is that it could be crappy outdoor bud or just bud handled with bad care?
Schwag is usually shitty pot grown south of the border. The males and females are never seperated (thus the seeds) and no care is given to them growing, drying, or packaging. It just gets compressed into dense bricks that are easy to ship, and it's not uncommon to find random things in a bag of bud. I've found dead bugs, string, and my favorite was a chipped off piece of a razor blade. The genetics probably aren't terrible, but it is mostly due to neglect why the end product comes out so terrible.
