Should you put a portable heater in a grow tent?

  1. I need to leave my window open for the exhaust and it's getting rather cold in my room. Last I checked the grow tent was at 18C. Would it be wise to put a portable heater in the tent? Or should I leave it outside the tent?

  2. Personally we use one in our 5x5. It works out for us.

  3. I looked into the same thing.  I grow in an unheated, uninsulated shed and it's been getting cold here (~28F at night). I have a radiator style heater outside my tent, but it's mellow enough I feel like I could but it inside with no issues.  Everyone I have heard from says NOT to put a heater in your tent if it has a heating element inside (heaters that aren't radiator style). Blowing hot air on your foliage will kill the leaves.

For now I've put a quilt on top of my tent, and my intake vent pulls air directly from my heater outside my tent.  What kind of lights are you using? I took the glass off my hood and temps skyrocketed to 75 degrees, even at night.
