Should I use a mix of color temp cfls?

  1. Right now I have a single plant under cfls. I have four 26actual watt GE cfls. The color temp is 6500K. From what I've read this is all I will need to veg, maybe a few more to get better coverage when the plant gets a bit bigger.

Should I turn on a few of the 42 actual watt cfls that are 2700k? I have them for the flowering stage but am wondering if I should use them now? I've seen a few guides online about fluorescent light and a lot of them mention using both light colors for the veg stage and just the red spectrum's for flower.

Any benefit to using the 2700k during veg?

  2. Heres 2 pics. The small one I think is 6 days in. I was really high that week and also started it on windows sill light. The big pic is like 6 days later under cfls.

My temp is around 75-78 but the min max on the thermometer says it got as cold at 66degrees and as high as 84 degrees. No matter how much water I leave sitting in the closet or how many times I mist the closet......the humidity stays around 35%

No nutes at all yet. I have like 9 hydro shops around me though. I figure I'll go with fox farms since I can't find any Advanced Nutrients local to me.

  3. sounds good man u should use both spectra for the veg, but have most on the blue side, u kno try to get that full spectrum effect more lights cant hurt. their looin good man i use foxfarms myself with great results they get my vote. keep it green man.

  4. I just hung one of the big 2700k cfls above the plant. I'll try and rig up something to get the bulb on its side instead of hanging vertically.
