Im short on cash and i have 3 sour diesel clones in my grow tent vegging almost 4 weeks now ive been waiting on sum cash to get 400w ballast and bulb.but its taking too long should i.just start to flower now with my 150 w hps and when.i get 400 w ballast and bulb because its obvious they are fighting for light now..i should have the money in about a week maybe 2 at the most..pleasr give all suggestions
yes u can step up the light, but u may need to distance the 400w further then u normally would. (18" to start the first few days). but the distance and heat output change (12" 150w to 16" 400w) may be enough to keep the leaves from burning. u can start with the 16" distance, watch the plant the first couple hours, if u notice the leaves folding this means the surface leaf temp is to high, and the plant minimizes the surface exposed. if this happens raise the light and every other day lower the light or let the plant grow into the distance.
