Should I run fans while I have co2 on?

Discussion in 'Grow Room Design/Setup' started by crikket, Feb 19, 2009.

  1. Whats up all? I was wondering if i should turn my fans off(including can fan pulling fresh air in and stale air out) while I am pumping co2? I start with an hour of co2 ,per instructions, then alternate ever 15 minutes co2 and room fans and clearing room fan. Thanks for all the help.

  2. You should run fans in your room all the time, and get a controller that will shut off all CO2 if it is dark, or if you vent.

It is optimal to not vent, if possible, for varied reasons, but if you do vent, you definitely want to be sure that your plants get a chance to use the CO2 before you get rid of it. A circulating fan or two should help make sure the CO2 doesn't just lay at the bottom of the grow area.

    I hope that helps...Good luck!

  3. Thank you for the advice nukem!

  4. And, the people who like to not fan the area when doing c02 use the c02 hose at the top of plants, so it goes through the plants down to torwarss the ground (c02 is heavier than air)

  5. Not circulating air around your plants is not smart, in an indoor grow, according to these folks:

There are plenty more articles if you Google "Grow Room Circulation" etc...but using CO2, without circulation fans, from what I have read, is a bit of a waste, as you will read in those articles.

So is having a beautiful crop of kick ass weed get moldy because there isn't any circulation...both can be easily avoided, too!

    :)

  6. good point, I was under the impression that a carbon scrubber fan would suffice for circulation as is in my friends instance whom doesn't use a active fan blowing on the plants and circulating to the extent u r. Hes seen good results, but to every man his own
