I'm running the full Botanicare line of nutrients, including Hydroplex. Hydroplex is Botanicare's bloom booster that gets run during mid-late bloom. However, there are ALOT of different/other bloom boosters on the market, and ive been starting to wonder if theres something better i could replace it with? Hydroplex has relatively low PK numbers on the bottle compared to some other products, and it makes me think perhaps theres something better i could put in its place.. If anybody has any suggestions, or knows if its ok to replace Hydroplex with another product, please reply!
I don't know about better, but I can give you cheaper and just as effective as anything else I've tried in the bloom booster world. My most recent runs I bought 1lbs of MKP (mono-potassium phosphate 0-52-34), dissolved this into a gallon of distilled water, and added 4floz of a liquid B vitamin complex. Virtually MOAB or House and Garden's Shooting Powder, minus the mono-amoinum phosphate. I skipped the MAP because I feed right through flowering, I was just trying to make a PK boost. This cost me about $15 for 1 gallon. I use 5ml/gallon 5 and 4 weeks from cut down, and 10ml/gallon 3 and 2 weeks from cut down (the last week is water only). I get the same second flower wave as I would from similar, much more expensive, products. I also have made a faux BioBoost (from Canna). This is made from sugar cane vinasse, AKA fermented molasses... Canna claims they have some multi-step fermentation process that makes it sooooo much better. I take my molasses, and add an equal part of warm water with brewers yeast added 15-20 minutes before hand (activates the yeast). I let this ferment for about 2 weeks or until its not bubbling anymore, then add bacteria/fungus inculcation such as great white (or whatever you got). I let it ferment for 2 more weeks. I then strain through a fine mesh and boil the hell out of it (this is to drive off the alcohol that is made). I add this as I would add BioBoost and get very close to the same level of boosted trichome formation. PS: What do you know, I'm from Weedville, OR too...
Haha agman, yea weedville is a great place to live isnt it? Personally, i live in Gresham (near Portland).. what about you? Anyway, those are some badass sounding recipe's youve got there, i love it. But i think im just too chicken to actually try doing all that myself. I wouldnt trust myself to do it right, and i would be too scared to apply it to my reservoir. But it certainly sounds like a great idea to save money.. Im just wondering if theres any "stronger" bloom boosters/maximizers that are better than Hydroplex.. Something that will give me better results. Something with higher PK etc. etc. you know what im sayin.. Any suggestions?
IMO their all the same shit with different labels... This is why I figured I'd just make my own. Seeing as Hydroplex is damn near $60 per gallon, I would shop around. At 0-10-6 I think you need to use more then their recommend dose. I have no experience with this product, I am just basing my thoughts of what I use. Molasses is 33% protein, after fermenting that leaves mostly amino acids, I use SEA-90 from seaagri.com for trace minerals, and make my own PK + Vitamin solution. I can make several gallons of fermented molasses and PK mix for $60. 10lbs of sea minerals (aka trace minerals) is about $25 and last me around a year (I have 24 flowering and 70ish in various veg stages). I really just sick of fertilizer companies raping growers. Especially since the market is shit and flooded with cheap sub par product right now...
I totally agree with you, making your own is the cheapest and easiest way to go. However, i dont have the time (or the willpower) to do that. So thats why im asking what other products might be a better direct replacement for hydroplex. I know i could just use a higher dose of hydroplex, but like you said, its expensive. So what other products would be a good direct replacement for hydroplex, with better PK?

You could use it at partial strength with what you got.
