  1. hey gc,

I have a outdoor plant that the hairs are about 60% orange/red.
It started getting trichs/ crystals about 2weeks ago, but I have nothing but a hand magnifying glass to view the trichs.

as far as I can tell they look clear/cloudy but as said I have nothing powerful enough to really view them.

So from this information, how long would you think they need if anymore time?

    thanks!

  2. Go to walmart and buy a kids microscope.

  3. I appreciate the reply, but that is not what this post was about at all.

I have $0 to spend. and the rest of the details are posted.

    anyone else?

  4. From all the things i have read, i believe you should wait a little longer. Clear/cloudy trichs are in the first part stage, i would let it continue to flower until most of the trichs have changed to a darker color. The darkness will depend on the strain of MJ you're growing, but look for a red/orange/brown. If 60~80% of your trichs are dark, start your harvest. Hope that helps! :)

  5. You have nothing to magnify the trichomes to see if they are cloudy/amber enough to harvest.

So unless you can make yourself a magnifying glass out of a drop of water and a piece of straw, you have no way to tell when to harvest.

If you absolutely refuse to spend $10 to tell when your harvest is ready, try going to a breeder site and look up the strain you're growing. It tells you aprox how many weeks they need to flower.

  6. awesome I was about to cut her down too. Ill give it couple more days

  7. Glad to have helped :) You won't regret your patience. Let us know how your smoke turns out.

  8. its going to rain here for about a week according to the news does this make a difference? , remember it is outdoors.

  9. Well the extra rain doesn't help for your harvest, no. Most growers stop watering for the last few days / week before harvest. The theory says that if you starve the plant a little bit in its last few days, you will help dry the buds out quicker.

So lots of rainfall has the opposite effect. Assuming you properly dry it out, you will be fine. Just something to be aware of.

  10. thanks so pretty much shake her out, and be patient  lol.
