Idk if fimming is the same thing as LST but i suggest LST on this plant.. Im not sure if its to late to top it, somewill else will have to tell you about topping, iv only topping when the forth set of leaves grew in.. Happy Growing -Rip
fimming is topping. FIM- (Fuck I Missed). fimming is basically a sloppy ass top job. sometimes when you top a plant slopily it can create an extra branch or 2 from the growth you missed. thats why some people do it. LST- low stress training. thats when you move branches around and secure them in a manner to get more light to areas of the plant that were naturally shaded by the plant itself. people chose different training methods for different reasons....sometimes even combinations of methods are applied to the same plant. no matter what method you chose the goal is the same (to manage plant growth and increase yield) if ur flowering soon i would suggest LST cuz this method will leave the most bud sites on your plant. if your vegging out a while longer then i would top/fim cuz your plant will have time to recover and make more bud sites
You're fine to top or FIM now, if you want....you can top may times, most FIM but once. Topping is easy, FIM is more difficult to do correctly. In both methods, the idea is to get rid of the top bud, which is the dominant (apical?) bud, and fool the plant into making several dominant buds, which it will do if it has been topped or FIM'd. Read up on both first....you got time. But no bud will be as big as the original dominant bud if you leave it alone. That's why some do SOG and just get a bunch of single dominant cola small plants....they are only trying to get one big bud per plant. There's lots of detailed info here on how to do both methods. Multiple topping is my vote for that plant... Make it a bush...you got a good start!
FIMing is not a sloppy ass topping job. They are two different methods. There's nothing wrong with FIMing at all. Topping will only give you two tops while FIMing can give you as many as 5-6. How is that negative in any way? Topping is cutting under the node while FIMing is cutting off bout 80% of the apical meristem(new growth) I personally like FIMing, always works great for me!
first off never once did i say it was a 'negative' thing to do. you even quoted me and still put words in my mouth and since ur telling me that when you top you cut BELOW the node....ill just give up cuz you dont know what ur talking about. both topping and fimming you cut above the node. the only difference is when you top.....you cut ALL the way down to the node. fimming you leave a portion of the growth. hence the name (F)uck (I) (M)issed. i fimmed my scroged plants perfectly and i have over 10 tops because of it. its rediculous. im so excited to see what i get just started to flower them! id say Fim or top its up to you. lst and fimming is a good idea for small space growers
hahahahahaaaaa....I'll give you one point because I mistyped, yes cut ABOVE the node. But other than that your being a little female. No ones trying to shoot you down baby girl. "Kill Myself" ???? Lol, grow up and then come back to the forums k.
Being new to growing and growing 6 plants, I can tell you I've learned a lot. Hydro, they way to go. I started out with soil,(in a 5gal buket), didn't work. To much mass to be able to take an acurate reading on temp, PH, and PPM. Very hard to do with soil(in my opinion). Any questions you may have conserning hydroponics feel free to cantact me. I will help you as much as I can.

With topping you cut the newest growth above the last fully formed node but below the newest ones that are still forming. You make your cut at the red line. FIMing you cut the main growth. No need for harsh vibes here. And no one needs to kill themselves.
