ok so i have been researching how to grow the past couple weeks and came to the conclusion that it would be best to grow indoors. I don't know much about the process or anything else related, but i wanted to know if i even had a feasible space to begin. currently, my best option looks like my closet. ive been told that its possible to grow inside 5 gallon buckets, and inside my closet ive got a big box thats been sitting in there for a cpl years, one that could easily hold one or more of these buckets. i guess my bottom line question is can i have a completely enclosed self contained plant within a bucket, only needing to open it for watering/other maintenance? sorry if none of that makes sense...im having trouble putting my thoughts into words today
i think i understand your Q. the answer is yes, if set-up right, with some light timers, and some fans for intake and exhaust, you can have a completely sealed up, self- running space to grow mary jane. you'd jsut need to open it to water/add nutes/ check on your plant. 5 gallon buckets are good, if you only have space for 1 or 2 tho, id suggest fem seeds, so you know 100% your getting a female. otherwise, read up on some info, good luck, and ask anymore questions you got. peace.
so if i was to invest in some fem seeds what strain should i get? i wouldnt want somthing that stresses out in the small space...
I want to make sure I understand...you plan on using a 5 gal. bucket as the actual growing chamber, not the container for the plant's roots. Yes?
Oy...that's a mighty small space. I don't think you will be satisfied with the results. You might can pull off a micro sog inside a homer bucket with some CFLs...not sure how you're going to ventilate it but it should be fun to watch. If you can figure on a larger space I think you'll have an easier time growing something to maturity.
5 gallons for the entire plant? That is a tiny space. Would you have any other places you could grow? What about outside?
oh woah... my bad bro... totally didnt understand you meant you wanted to grow INSIDE a 5 gallon bucket... i thought u were going to grow with the plants IN 5 gallon buckets... which is kinda the standard recommended size.... idk how you'd pull off growing inside a 5 gallon bucket.... ud have to use like 1 gallon pots...... def probaly wouldn't even be worth it to bother... im lazy, i know when to bother... haha... and don't bother with this man.
Yeah, I say its a waste of time too. Honestly, if your going this small why even stop at a bucket? Hell, why even choose the bucket to begin with as your definitive cabinet for growing? Why not a cool looking piece of furniture with a similar volume as the 5 gallon bucket? Perhaps the person that told you to grow in buckets actually meant that you could use them as containers for your MEDIUM and ROOTS.
thanks for the replies, i gotta look around for another spot then. i was going to originaly grow outside but someone built a house on theonly spot that wouldve worked
