Should I cut my losses with this plant? No bud anywhere really

So, I have two plants going, almost 6 feet tall. One is flourishing. The other has a couple of stems with a few buds, but not really anything to speak of. I'm starting to think all its doing is taking up light my good plant could be using.

Heres some pictures of the main cola, followed by a comparison shot of the one thats flourishing.

I figure I have about 5 weeks of flowering left. Wondering if I should just chop this one down so the one gets all the lighting (315 actual watts from 3 cfl's, then 3 100w equivs spread around. )

Also, if I take her down, whats the best way to dispose of her? I do have a bunch of weeds just lying in a corner of my yard. Guess I could add it there untill it dries out and looks like the rest. I'm guessing the few popcorn buds that exist arn't good for anything either.

  2. looks like its going to be longer than 5 weeks give that girl some more time

  3. looks like their still vegging

  4. Thats what the one definately looks like! Theres one cola way low that has a few small buds, not gonna develop. One cola that has a few that stretched way out thats lower. But that top main cola has almost nothing on it.

Then you look at the one in the middle, and while it needs some time, it has buds all over the main cola, and on many other cola's. They've been lights 12/12 for I'd say 10 weeks maybe? First weekend in august. Probably sexed and showed flower about 3 weeks later, so I figure its been about 7 weeks with 5 or so more to go. They just now finished growing taller. I took them out of veg around 20" and they are 68" now, and I haven't had to raise the lights in about 4 days. So I'm hoping they'll focus on bud development now.

But the one with no colas..... it grew the fastest and most vigorous in veg. In flower, same thing, it shot up, has a really thing stem, more branches in it, yet hardly any buds on any of the stems. I'm using CFL Lighting (3 100 actual watters for 315W total (They are 400w Equiv's evidently) up top, with lights on the side, so I'm wondering if I should get rid of the one that, as you said, looks like its still in veg, so it doesn't block any light from my lady thats producing. As of right now, I have all 3 100w Equivvs (My suplemental lighting) focusing on my main bitch, the one thats giving me my flowery goodness, but wonder if I'd be better served just scrapping the one thats not producing.

Could she start growing flowers later? Or are the nodes with flowers now what she has all shes going to get? First time grow, so I have no clue whats going on :)

  5. You may wish to give it more time. Some of the slower maturing strains can be quite rewarding. I've got some Chemdawg here from a plant that looked like a sick ragweed, but its amazing.

The best way I've found to dispose of your stems and foliage is to make hash, then discard the damp mass of ground up green gunk, double bagged.:)

  6. Well they are both the same strain, germed same time, put into flowering the same time, etc.... I'm just surprised this one has next to nothing, has also stopped growing vertically, and the other one is doing so well (Middle picture)

I guess I'll let her keep going, seee if she ever starts producing anything. Her main trunk looks like something out of a disney movie. Thick, big thick branches at the bottom everywhere, yet the other lady who looks so frail seems to be doing better (cloned her)

Definately plan on using the trimmings etc... for hash. Is it just the sugar leaves that will leave some THC residue or do the branches/etc.... leave some too?

  7. I chop up pretty much everything but the roots and run it through, when making bubble hash. I figure if I've got to make that big a mess in the kitchen with the bags and the mixer, etc. I might as well dump the whole plant in there.:)

It can be pretty surprising how much useful material is on unexpected parts of the plant...When recently processing some stems for stem tea, I got 2 tablespoons of keif off of a 12 inch pizza pan of chopped stems.

  8. Well I know I thought I had bugs when I first saw the hairs/trichs/whatever the frosty hairy shit is on the stems! heh. And the leaves themselves, before the frostyness comes, it looks like bumps, thought again my plant was having problems! If I end up chopping her, which you guys are saying I shouldn't and just let her be, I'll at least run her through some QWISO.

  9. Sativas can take up to 16 +- weeks and longer to finish. Some sativa strains grow best in an outdoor enviorment.

It looks like your good plant is flowering better at the lower level than at the top which is sorta reverse of what should happen. Just wondering what light spectrum you are using at the top and middle of plant. 2700K are best for flowering.

Other possibilities are their is to much N and not enough phosphorus in your fert. Flowering plants need twice the phosphorus while flowering.

  10. Try using some LST next time CFLs don't penetrate for shit.I LST mine and keep the CFL right on top of the plant. Keepd em nice and short. I have an NYC deisel plant that just started to flower and she is 6" tall tops. Also try adding some molasses. Helped my last round of plants really bud up nicely

  11. I'm pretty sure I had/have a phosphourous deficiency. Went to the hydro shop and they reccomended magical (Magnesium, calcium, and iron. using RO water)

I am running 2 100w red spectrum cfl's, and one 100 w multispectrum CFL. The 100w equivs are soft white AKA 2700 spectrum CFL's. This is supposed to be a 13 week sativa. The lady thats doing good has good buds up top, and in the middle. The one thats not doing shit has a lower node that stretched out a good foot (under the other plant) before going up that has the bud. Its the bad lady that has the lower nodes growing flowers :)
