I planted a cookie monster from Humboldt Seed Company late. June I believe. The plant is only 22 inches right now..and the others I had outside began to flower. I put it inside a few days ago not knowing if I left it outside whether or not it would start flowering to. It would be too small I think. Anyways..if I left it outside would it grow or just go straight to flower...Therefore, should I keep it inside and continue to veg it for a while longer or not. Thanks.
If its a photo-period plant and your other photo-period plants outside have started flowering.....then that one will too. What kind of grow light do you have indoors?
If it were my plant.....and I had sufficient lighting indoors....I'd bring it in....that's JUST ME though
Yeah going to bring it in. It was a hard pack of seeds to get to grow. Out of 10 only 4 sprouted . Would like it to be about 30 inches or so before I flower. 3 feet for me is good. My other plants were a strain I made xj13xsuper silver haze and purple kush x fruity pebbles which are bushy as hell. 5 foot plant that is 5 feet wide nearly.
The last thing you want is to bring bugs from your outdoor grow inside. Keep your indoor grow bug free and you won't have any problems, bring bugs from outside and you might have a big problem later on. Same goes with buying clones from unknown sources, my buddies have ruined their indoor grow because of spidermites when buying clones lol. Do your research and start from seed if you want to grow indoors!
I already have an indoor set up..but since the daylight hours are less this year I wasn't sure if I should bring the small plant indoors and let it continue to veg. I don't want a small 2 foot plant. It is 23 inches today indoors. I want it big enough to put off 3 to 4 ounces outdoors.
I understand where you're coming from, but the last thing you want is a bug infestation to happen indoors and that is one way to start it. The beauty of my indoor was i never had to do anything for bug prevention because there was none to deal with, for my outdoor i use insecticidal soap / neem oil foiler sprays a few times just to keep the bugs down. I'd hate to have to use neem oil or some kind of chemical like Pyrethrins indoors (Just my opinion). Hope it goes well and your plant is clean! Did you use any preventative sprays or rinse the leaves off with water before putting it indoors by any chance? Might help, but for something like spidermites if you leave even 1-2 eggs but kill 99%+ of them, they'll come back.
Been using captain jacks for about 10 years. That seems to work. Haven't had a mite problem..but I did have a katydid problem. Those little green jerks kept eating my leaves last year!! I was so ticked. For mold green cure. Since I invested in seeds rather than clones that are promoted as mold resistance I have found it manageable. I hated clones after one run..they had mold..they had bugs..and they just ruined my first indoor growing experience. I grow for a family member with cancer. I can't afford to lose plants..and that was a disaster. Thanks for the concern..when I first started this. I wish I had had this kind of guidance that I get now. I don't smoke..I do it because I love the person that needs it. If it helps them with their pain and appetite then I will continue to do it for them.
So far having my humidity at 30-35% during flower and no more than 50 during veg on my indoor has shown no signs of any mold yet. Also need to make sure there is good airflow and you are watering your medium right (Have seen buddies have problems with mold on the medium they grow with, my guess is overwatering?). For my outdoor this year oh man i'm hoping for the best, i got a 8+ footer on my hands... Flowering just started so i'm not sure how much bigger it can get in this 15 gallon pot lol. I can't see the tops of my plant without a ladder and i don't have one so i haven't been able to check for worms in weeks lol. Gotta hope the weather stays good because you can't control the humidity outdoors.. Last year i got a little mildew on my leaves on the week i should have harvested lol. I believe that was my fault since my plant was unhealthy and had deficiencies and bug problems its whole life, this years grow is completely different. No spidermites at all, barely any bug bites 95% of fan leaves look mint. No infestations and deficiencies, i learned a lot from my indoor over the winter. Simple tips that made my grow a lot better than last year: PH water always De-Chlorinate Tap Water (Not sure if this counts) Using nutes (Check PPM and PH) Don't overwater/underwater Dont pick off any healthy leaves unless you are doing a heavy defoliation (Only do 1-2 times its life to reduce stress, once during veg and the second time in week 1-2 flower) Dont buy clones from unknown sources Never over or under water, but under watering is MUCH better than overwatering Check PPM and PH from the runoff when feeding your plants every now and then just to see if all is going well.
