Should I be worrying about mold?

i know that having stuff too cluttered can lead to bad things. The girls need room to breath and all that, and with the limited room I have available, it’s both cluttered and doesn’t leave me with a whole lot of room for a lot of circulation. Right now I’m using a static fan (non-oscillating) and have decent ventilation using an inline duct fan w/filter.

However, many of the mid-bud sites are pressed against the wall of the tent, and in some cases touching each other and out of the direct path of air from the fan. Should I be concerned about mold/bud rot? I just watered them and had a hell of a time trying to get them bath tucked back into the tent.

According to my calendar, I have approx 3-4 weeks left and would hate to ruin all this work for something so easily preventable, but I’m at a loss of what to do about it. I really don’t want to harvest one early for obvious reasons.

What would you do in my situation? The image doesn’t really do it justice for how bad it is. The front plant is literally pressed up again the left wall, interfering with the back plant and had to tuck the growth closest to the camera with my arms to get the door closed.

Would taking off some of the lower branches of the closer plant be a wise decision?

  2. Can you get another fan in there? Won't hurt.

  3. I would suggest more fan power.

After that, if you can, maybe get a stake or two, centered in the pot, tie those outer branches to the centered stakes bringing them in slightly off the walls allowing air back there.

If you feel like it's needed you could do some minor defoliation between the centre buds and the newly pulled in outer ones? I put a question mark because some people don't like doing that. It's up to you

Defoliation under the plants will also help with the convection effect, allowing the air to fully circulate, and move well around the plants. Any popcorn crap buds could go. Get rid of dying leaves or leaves that are clearly not beneficial, completely shaded.

None of these are guarantees or quick fixes in themselves, and if you also don't go crazy on any of them, I think it would all help.

EDIT : Looking good though !! Had to come back and add that

  4. I see no mention of Humidity?

  5. Thanks for the replies folks.

I may be able to fit another fan in, but space is already quite cramped. I’m fairly on top of removing dead/dying leaves but I should be able to trim some more non-essential leaves and popcorn from the bottom. Will this stunt the plant in any meaningful way?

I will absolutely look into using a rod to tie everything up and hopefully that will help somewhat. The front lady is worse in that regard and there is definitely room for improvement. Not sure if it will completely solve it though. The tent is only 3x3 and didn’t expect them to get as big as they have.

Humidity isn’t a huge issue where I’m at. For a day or two after watering it will generally reach 50% or so, but then will creep back down towards the mid-30’s until the next feeding/watering. Is this a danger (after watering)?

And thanks for the kind words Johnny Stash. I’m pretty proud of this run, especially considering my last attempt was really hit hard by spider mites :(

I have nightmares (seriously) about going through that again haha

  6. the dollar store sells some nice small 6'' fans with a clip on them, that blows lightlly,, no hurricane type wind,,,

you could clip one of them up top pointing down... and have good circulation,, just because the floor of your tent is cluttered,, the top part is free for ammendments,,,, and i would suggest not doing any foliar feeding,,, getting them buds wet may very well develop mold in that small area,,,

ive never used a tent,,, and dont want to, heres my very roomy g-room,

once you get away from that tent.. you'll never use one again,

  7. Not that I’m really disagreeing with you, but it’s extremely easy to get the environment the way you want it with a tent. I would love and hope to one day be able to construct a room just for growing. That’s also kind of like winning the lottery though.

  9. your right... your area vs mine.... a tent may be good for you... im in a sub tropical climate,,, i wish i could get my humidity to 30 like you said yours hovers at...mine hovers at 60+. im thinking of getting 2 buckets of '' DAMP-RID'' and placing them in there, to see if i can lower it... but right now. i dont have excellent wind movement either, but my plants aint but 7'' tall... im waiting on the wall mounted oscillating fan to show up. the crop i had going this time last year got ruined due to mold.. which triggered me to remodel my g-room.

your not doing foliar feeding are you ?

  10. I fucking hate mold man.... I’ve got such bad paranoia when it comes to mold! I had a buddy in collage that smoked a pound of weed in a month span and ended up a mold ball growing in his lung. It was the size of a dime when they went to remove it but unfortunately the damage was irreversible. Anyway on a different note try the Eva Petite dehumidifier. Or the Eva Dry.
