Should I be worried about bud root and the rain?

  1. It seems to rain about twice a week where I am and the humidity is in the 70s. Should I be concerned about rotten buds?

  2. I don't grow outdoors, but from what I understand if you are pretty far in flowering (6-8 weeks) it is wise to cover your plants as best you can if there is a chance for a lot of rain and high humidity. How far along are they?

  3. Plants are probably 2-3 weeks into flowering, should finish for oct

  4. cover them the last few weeks and withhold watering last 5 days. we're on the same boat brah

    Cover with what tho?

  6. Gobbage bags. Even if it rains tho, if u can get out to your grow on a reg basis and shake the dew/rain off of em. You really dont have to worry bout mold. The worst case scenario is when it rains and stays overcast for a couple of days. Then u should worry bout mold and rotting.

  7. Get clear plastic tarp and string it up on all four corners. Don't just put a Bag over the plant bc you WILL get mold

  10. HI...has anyone figured out what to do if you DO get bud rot??? Is NEEM oil a good solution? Do you spray it on the buds? That stuff stinks ya know...I had a plant with 2 beautiful colas and one of them is just full of BUD ROT....does this stuff spread?? Can it be stopped? Prevented?? Thanks for any help on this. Covering my girls is out of the question...hurriciane rains and days of high humidity are the reason it is there. Now to STOP it....any suggestions?? THANKS!

  11. Yes, you should be concerned. I grow outdoors in So. Cal. we get dew most of the nights.
I set up a shade canopy but replaced the cloth on top with 6 mil. clear(ish) plastic, my girls are on wagons and carts so I wheel them under canopy at sundown. WAY less rot problems since then. check out my grow movie you can see the set up in the backround.

  12. Thank You for that Grandad... And what an absolutely Awesome garden you have.. :hello: However as I mentioned covering mine is NOT an option... Mine are planted in the ground with ajoining weeds as camo.. ;) They get ALL the rain and wind and humidity...Some of us are not so lucky as to live in a state with medical marijuana laws in place. :( My question is: Does ANYONE know of anything to spray/water outdoor plants with to help prevent/STOP BudRot? :confused_2: I used a good tablespoon of NEEM Oil mixed with EWC Castings concentrated oil in a 2 gal sprayer. :devious: I sprayed this on all the plants and I am hoping for the best. Thanks for any advice. :smoke::gc_rocks:

  13. sorry bout the bud rot issue. it sucks but you should cut that stuff off when you see it on the branch. Double check for worm crap, that can cause the same kinda look. What about big beach umbrellas at night, just for the dew.

  14. Neem works well on surface molds, but BR has more to do with excessive moisture within the buds that can't escape dailey from air movent I.E. wind.
I am a CMI (certified microbial investigator) " mold inspector" for a living, and bud rot still leaves frustrated.
