Should I be giving my plants plant food 10-10-10?

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by Twinn420, Jul 31, 2018.

  1. I bought some Schultz plant food 10-10-10 I have some clones I got from the club, also I have a plant growing from seed outside, it’s about a week and a half old.

  2. I think it would be fine, just in a very small dose since the plant is not mature or fully established yet. Careful not to burn it

  3. Should I use it on the seedling also?

  4. never seedlings. 1/4 strength @ 2 inches tall. then full strength @ 3 inches tall. supply pics first. i like the 10/10/10 it will veg the hell out of your plants. on a budget it will also flower the plants to monsters. i used to use the 10/10/10 when i could find it they stopped making the brand i used to use so forced to move on. in my opinion these #s are the best all around for any stage.

  5. Not a good idea to flower with nitrogen of ten. Possibly might not flower at all. The plant needs pk not nitrogen.

  6. you just have no idea what your talking about. saying this in a nice way all the bad information out there, its not your fault not know better. you can flower with this just as good as a # like 5/45/9 stop reading false info from these nutrient companies. your going to have to do a side by side with it for your self. i used it before they came out very well massive yields. i stand by what i say i am willing to wager. the higher p will cause a lock out you will need to add a cal mag to supplement the lock out.
the end result of using the 10/10/10 through the entire grow will be a lush green plant . the buds will be the same or damn near the yield of a 5/45/9 like fox farms or cha ching so on.

  8. mg is total trash nutrients.there # are very far off. there numbers are about 25/7/8 its good for your lawn.

  9. we can argue nutrients all day. i agree with you on the mg. it will not keep a happy plant no matter who you are.

  10. stop using mg even for veg in the short run they may look ok but when they mature you will start seeing issues.

  11. i say this in the kindest way i am not disagreeing with you on the mg and all the bad info out there will trick a guy, peace .

Its a MYTH/FAKE NEWS Weed DOESNT NEED NITROGEN IN FLOWERING..

Chem Gro who has been making Plant Specific Fertilizer since the 60s says the best overall ratio is 19.5-20-39. Going by Tissue Analysis.

Weed likes 2x amount of K vs N, and it likes the same, or just a bit more P vs Nitrogen.

Weed likes a constant feed of Mg, and is also raised incrementally as the plant grows bigger/flowering.

An 8 week strain will need a P/K boost at the 3-4th weeks, and a Mg Boost at weeks 5-6. But PPM are going up weekly On Everything.

I myself only use 20%/25% recommended strength, and Feed/Water Every time. I use Promix BX.

In reality ALL Nutrient PPM are rising the whole time except the last 2 weeks t are slightly backed off of Mg, base formula/calcium nitrate, but is still very high.

    I use Chem Gro Fertilizer
    4-20-39
    15.5-0-0
    0-52-34.. Mono Potassium Phosphate
    Magnesium Sulfate/Epsom Salts

1 of the issues you will end up with using MG, unless the soil has Mg in it, the plant will get Mg deficiency. Which will lead to other problems really fast.

I used Mg/Peters many times in the 80s, but mainly outside, and I also had Lime, which added Mg/calcium.

Also if you give the plants to much fert, that can also be a reason for crappy/leafy plants vs the N P K ratio just being wrong.
Ive also usd 46-0-0 back in the 80s, and used to much, and all they did was veg. Never did bud.
Also used 0-44-0 0-0-60, but gave to much Nitrogen.
