Should I be concerned? Does this look infected to you?

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by LoneGardener, Feb 15, 2019.

  1. So I thought it was all going well and then I spotted this when I looked around the backside.
Should I chop it down or is there something else I should be looking at?

    Cheers

  2. Why on earth would you chop it down?

  3. Meh, it looks pretty good so I definitely wouldn't chop her down lol. That's a pretty decent size of plant for that size of container though. Do you have plans to transplant into something bigger? It's never ideal to transplant an auto, but I'm sure that she'd be happier in a larger container. If she's at five weeks from seed, she's in the middle of the stretch. This may be an appropriate time

  4. I wouldn't... shoulda added a "lol" with that!

    is she ok?

  5. the vertical growth has slowed and the buds are starting to form.

shes in a 2 gallon container. I was going to run with this right to the end.

    i'm feeding twice a day @ 700ppm

    whats with the leaf?

  6. What's your feeding schedule and pH in and out?

  7. Your call, man. For me, I won't put an auto seed in less than 3-5 gallons because I don't want to see rootbound and pH issues halfway through flower.

The leaf looks like a pH issue. I don't use bottled nutrients or pH so I can't be of much help. Good luck!

  8. been feeding 1.5 hrs after lights on, then bout 6 hrs later, hand watering
6.0 going in, 6.4 coming out
ppm in was about 700 and just under 500 coming out this morning
res temp is 70 degrees and the water is circulating

its a large fan leaf, old growth, not new growth

  9. If it's only one leaf I wouldn't be concerned. Your pH is fine. You can definitely grow in a 2 gallon bucket with coco but you might consider another feeding per day. Soil2Coco feeds like 5 times a day. Good luck.

  10. Thanks Mick!

I've been considering a third, by the next morning the pots are really light again. I've got pretty good drainage this time.

    Cheers!

  11. If she dries out that fast she is well root bound and should slip out of her pot and not damage any roots.
With help if you can get it flip her upside down and be ready to catch her when she slides out. Step up to a 5 gallon and gently set her in and fill around the root ball being careful not to disturb the roots any more then you have to.
Should give you a shock free transplant and she'll keep going and not slow at all.
