There's exceptions to the rule (apparently this is one) but in every outdoor guide I've read, those have been the signs to look for.
I have outdoor guidebooks that give advice on edible types of plants and mushrooms. Apperantly wild mushrooms/plants are edible if they are dark in colour(Bright colours are bad), mushrooms are safe if cooked, and poisonous mushrooms usually taste bad. In-edible plants will cause a rash on the inside of the mouth. If no rash appears after an hour the sample is safe to eat. (All of the above is false, these are bullshit beliefs from people mushroom hunters who got lucky or died shortly after writing their beliefs. Don't try this at home kids.) All of those listed above would get you killed. The first immigrants from to America avoided tomatoes they could have picked before winter came because they were bright red. Yet some red berries are to be avoided at all costs.
There are field test which can give a very educated indication on whether a plant is edible or not, and they definitely don't start with a taste test. But don't even fuck with unknown mushrooms, by the time a person is done doing any kind of edibility test they could already be dead. EDIT: i realize that my comment may not be directly in response to yours, idk man
that is a pretty chill looking snake. I've had a little rosey boa for about 7-8 years now and I love the little guy. I like all the different trippy patterns and sequences you can find on different snakes, there's just so many!
Snakes, literally the only fear I've yet to conquer in my life. I can't even look at pictures of them so I waited for this to get to two pages and closed my eyes mostly in case someone posted a pic on this page. When I was in like 4th grade or something I was playing my my yard by this group of big rocks. I saw a gardener slither on out, ran inside, didn't step foot off my driveway for months. True story.
Some one pm him some pics unless it's a girl
Green tree pythons are beautiful creatures. I'd rather run into one of those in the jungle than a gaboon viper, or a fer-de-lance..
Beautiful snake. I love snakes. They move with such elegance and beauty, but can be so lethal. And to think they were alive when dinosaurs ruled. Resilient creatures
