I'M BACK I am back after a few month break from here. I am just finishing up my new grow area, it is a 10x10 room built into my garage. I have had 2 previous grows, one in a closet with a 400W MH, and another in this current room (built the room around the grow). But each time I only had 1 crop at a time and that left me buying bud again after I ran out and while the current crop finishes. Now I hope to grow enough to provide my partner and I enough to last and have some left over for some friends. I hope to be able to have a crop every 5 weeks or so. Anyway enough of that on the current crop, I am growing some White Widow from clones I got off a friend, I cut these gals just before New Years and they have been Vegging in 3 gal pots in FFOF. I am trying some LSTing for the 1st time ever on them as well. I think they are going to get about 2 more weeks of veg time then move into the flowering room.
THE ROOM: Like I said before this is all contained in a 10x10 room framed up in the center of my garage. The Veg room has a 400w MH in it and the Flowering room has 2x600w HPS. There is also a drying closet built in. here is a sketch from before I built it and a quick pic of the finished but empty flowering room and the drying closet.
OK lights just came on, not much to do tonight. Gave my clones for my next crop a nice misting, and pinned down a couple more branches on my girls. I think at this point I am going to stop pinning them down and let all the branches grow up for the next 10-14 days before they go into the flowering room. As for the clones I took 6 and will be keeping the best looking 4 to go into small pots then into 5 gal smart pots and I will retire the 3 gal plastic pots. I hope to grow 4 plants under each 600W giving them all 5-6 weeks of veg time, and next time try just 2 to see what the best number of plants is for yields. Currently I am just using Fox Farms Big Bloom, Grow Big and Tiger Bloom. I have been thinking about getting the solubles as well, but also considering trying Roots Organics line of nutes. Probably going to wait a couple crops and try a side by side grow this summer. Here's a couple quick pics of the clones and their mum.
Nice setup. What are you using to get cool air through to the intake? My garage gets 115F during the summer.
Thanks, I'm not super worried about it my garage is heavily shaded and has lots of ventilation. But if need be on those extra hot days I got a portable AC. Honestly the cold seems to be a bigger problem for me. My last crop was severely stunted by a surprise cold snap during early flowering, temps in the grow room were peaking around 55. I got some insulation on the rooms roof now though and on cold days its around 70 with only the 4" inline fan on my charcoal filter running on low. On average now its in the mid 70s at my plants level with the light on and around 55 when its off.
Not much going on here tonight, I moved things around a little in the veg area max my light coverage (400w MH + 2x26w clfs). Looks like I will be watering my girls tomorrow night, as there is still plenty of moisture about 1-2 inches deep. This FFOF really does need better drainage. For my next crop I got a huge bag of big and chunky perlite and I'm mixing 15-20% extra for drainage, also will be growing in 5gal smart pots can't wait to try them out. Here is a pic of the crop and a couple more to show the veg room set up.
Just spent some time looking at Attitude seeds, think I want to get LSD and maybe try Grape God. Seen plenty of LSD grows but not to much on the Grape God, anyone out there try it or know much about it?
Thanks, I don't remember the exact day they were cut from the mum I think it was the 2nd week in Dec. They went into the 3gal pots on Jan 5th, and will spend another week and a half in veg
So tonight I gave my girls both Big Bloom and their first dose of grow big, hope they like it. Had one little mishap, I ended up breaking off one of the branches I had pinned down from my LST, its ok though it was a clean break and I can't even notice where it came from without really looking close.
So the girls like the nutes, they are starting to bush up nicely. Really wishing I mixed some perlite in with this batch of soil, this FFOF sucks for drainage and temps are a little low due to cold temps outside. Already mixed up my next bag of soil and added roughly an extra 15% perlite, feels much lighter. Anyway here's a couple quick pics of the girls.
Its been a couple days just thought I would give a quick update. The girls are growing about a half inch a day. I am going to give them until next Friday to veg then they are going in the flower room and real fun begins. My clones are starting to show some roots, I figure they have another couple days and then they will go into soil. They will move into 3.5" square pots with some leftover Happy Frog soil I had from my first grow and spend 10-14 days there then move into their 5 gal smart pots with the FFOF and perlite mix. I am starting with the happy frog because I keep hearing how FFOF is hot, when I am out of the Happy Frog I am switching to Light Warrior as I have heard great things about it for seedlings and cuttings.
Nothing on the grape, but I have an lsd haha.. It is in my sig if you want to check it out.. Great looking grow.. I'm staying tuned
Thanks for checking it out, and ya there are lots of LSD grows but few with grape god. Although the few I have stumbled on seem to all point to it as a fast flowering heavy yielding plant, and has a heavy indica stone. Basically looks like something good and different then what most people have, and different is good.
Gave the girls some good old H2O tonight. They have grown probably about 6 inches above the pot rim. Need to drill some holes in the pots to tie them down with in the next day or two as well. Forgot to take any photos as it is rather late and I must get up in the morning, I will get some new photos for everyone tomorrow. All but one of my clones is showing roots now as well so yay
Just got back from the hydro shop, finally picked up the Fox Farm solubles. Keep hearing good things about them so I figure why not right, I'm pretty excited to try them out. Lights are not on yet so new plant pics have to wait a little longer, but I will add some more tonight.
OK I promised pics so here they are. First 6 pics are 1 pic of each girl and last is the mother right before she got watered. Anyway hope you enjoy time to go.
LOL, thanks man. She is still young only took 2 sets of clones off of her so far will probably flower her this summer and replace her with a new clone. Might just see how long I can keep her not sure yet.
Some Beautiful plants your working with there... Also i'm glad to see a nicely done, and successful LST. I performed this to my plants, but keep in mind I am very new to this haha. Keep up the good work man, no more buying buds for you .
