Hey grasscity. Heres some pics of my last grow a week or two from finishing. It was done in a bc bloombox using advanced nutrients. I got around a half pound total. I probably could have done a lot better but i was fighting with fungus gnats until I discovered bti. The strain was romulan. Right now Ive got some white widow under the hps. Im using scrog and coco this time around just for a change of pace. These clones have been veg'd around a month now. I got both of these strains from a medical pot club in san francisco.
How wide are the squares in the scrog? I've read they should be atleast 2 inches wide. Just seems it would be easier if you used a bigger net. Good luck!
They are about an inch. I pulled the screen off this morning because it was annoying me. Right now they are tied down to the frame with loose twist ties. I was to lazy to take a new picture.
those romulan's look sweet, half pound from how many plants? will you have to raise the netting for the widow's?
I got rid of it. I like to tie my plants down rather than use a screen. The screen was smashing the plants more than it was training them. Probably would have worked better with larger holes. Those are 3 romulan plants in a bubbler under a 400w hps. Heres a pic of my romulan mother and some clones for the next grow.
fair play, nice crop. what's the purpose of clipping the leaves on the clones? the person that provided my clones had done the same thing but i wasn't able to ask about it.
Sometimes the clones wilt if you dont clip them. They can only absorb so much water without roots and they lose water through the leaf. Most of the time you dont need to clip the leaf but I do it just incase.
looks like some good smoke man, nice job... clones are looking good, keep it up... glad u removed the screen
I got a dozen granddaddy purple clones yesterday. I know they are legit because I have seen clones from the same mom flowered out. Im not one of the people who piss themselves over a purple nug but I think the gdp is a really nice strain. These clones are going to need some tlc, they werent looking great when I picked them up. They are in beer cups full of coco coir.
Ok heres an update. The GDP has been transplanted into 3 gallon grow bags full of coco coir and topped with perlite. 10 are going to be flowered and 2 are going to be saved as mothers. The mothers are in 2 gallon square pots of coco coir. I replaced my 150w cfl with a new 4 bulb X 2 foot t5 floro fixture. It spreads the light a lot more evenly.
wow that looks really good.... nice plants how is that coco coir stuff? i am using soil right now and am getting quite sick of it, thinking of going hydro or finding a better medium. have u grown regular soil before? how would u compare it?
Ive used soil for a few years. Coco is better. Coco holds so much more air, its almost impossible to over water. The plants grow much better in coco once you get it dialed in. Its much easier to fertilize too. It doesnt have the tendency to store nutes like soil so you dont end up with over fert or salt buildup. The drawback is that you have to fert/water more often because the coco will dry quicker than soil.
I'm a total newb, but i really cant reccomend DWC hydro enough, its SO nice and easy (with all proper equipment & some common sence leanded to me by fellow board members)
Not much to say this time. Everything is the same but 1 week bigger. Heres the gdp. Heres some white widow clones. Heres my mothers. 2 are gdp, 1 is romulan, and 1 is mystery weed. One of the gdp will probably be replaced by a white widow.
Im pretty sure that no one cares but here the plants are 1 week older. This has been an easy grow. Nothing has gone wrong yet.
Thanks. Ive been going at it pretty hard since 04 as far as indoor. Before that I just grew outdoors and didnt take it very seriously. I guess Ive been doing this for about 5 years now.
