Shallow hydro aeration grow

  1. I'm trying to figure out if this will work. I want to use a 8" deep rubbermaid with airstones in it the roots will be in the water pretty much at all times but the water will be constantly aerated and circulated but no pump for ebb and flow . Will this work

  2. I'm interested in an answer to this too.

  3. roots grow out, not down... only gravity makes them go down.. so my assumption would be yes...

I've seen grows happen in shallow oil containers less than six inches tall... I'd put the air stones as far to the sides of the container as possible, not underneath them... and use small net cups... maybe four inches

  4. Yes, it will work. Just be sure you get plenty of air in the nutes!

  5. Nice.
I was hoping this'd be the case.

Also, does the amount of water count? For example a small volume of water in a container at any one time, but a flow-through from a reservoir of the normal 5 gallons?
