I have a cabinet I am gathering parts for and need a reflector/socket/cord for my new 150/175/250 select a watt ballast. I prefer to orient the light so it is perpendicular to the back wall, not parallel to it. One slight problem is the depth of the cabinet. I've been trying to find a basic metal reflector and socket that is 12" deep or less but not had any luck. Does anyone know of any? If I buy an econowing or similar would it be possible to take a few inches off with a dremel cutting wheel (and grind the sharp edge)? Is there a better DIY solution without many tools? Also are any bulbs exceptionally better for growing or should I pick a standard 250w from 1000bulbs.com?
