So im definitely getting a stemline off alt this week. I'm just torn between the down n the up grids. The down grid in theory leads to greater water agitation, and better diffusion. But i could be wrong on this as the up grid stacks more, just trying to get some opinions
well i'm not sure 100% but i think the down grids are better. like you said, more agitation. the original stemlines were up grids, then the second version came with the grids down so i feel like at this point steve is just giving you the option of personal preference really. you know?
Yea thats what im thinking. Cuz i've heard steve's been making both designs since the original. The up grids give you the visual stackage, and a more airy hit. While i assume the down grid is more of a draggy hit, with the less stackage. The down grid definitely sounds better tho, but personal preference
either way you'll find it pretty damn hard to be dissatisfied, i'm sure. i'm getting a stemline or a waffle this week i think. gonna make the decision in the shop when i can water test them both. so pumped for new glass! sorry to hijack, btw. heh
Steve made the original stemlines with both upgrids and downgrids. More people preferred the upgrids because it stacks bubbles easier and is a much more light and airy hit. The downgrids provide a more turbulent hit with some mad chugging ability. You can accomplish the same affect by just adjusting the water level in a v2 though.
for some reason i just wasn't thinking, shows you what a lack of sleep can do to someone. wasn't even elevated. lol but i meant to say the up grids are better. in my opinion atleast. less draggy hit and it still milks enough with a high flow slide. pulled on both at the shop today, however one was a micro with down grids, the other was a 60mm can with the 38mm mouth piece and had up grids. i liked the less chuggy hit, feels more fitting to the stemline for some reason. ended up walking out with that tube.

Hope the upgrids are better, just ordered one of the original tubes tonight and I chose up, I didn't think too do too much research. Any more feedback on this one, because I'm kind of curious if the uprgrid has any benefits over downgrid and if possible from someone who's hit both? For mostly flowers by the way.

I personally have not hit a downgrid, but I have owned the 50mm stemline and now own a 50-38 upgrid, and i don't think i could like a downgrid near as much. Absolutly love the airy hit of the up, and the diffusion is awesome. I really doubt you can notice much difference of smoothness between the two, just the feel of the pull.
